im glad that you asked about were my transducer was mounted.after i posted i saw were you were talking about trolling motor mount.no mine is transom mount,but i dont think that that really matters with the humminbird because of the scroll speed adjustment.i dont no about the lowrance but the 998 pritty easy to adapt to different speeds.one more thing that needs to be adressed is possible rf noise if your transducer is mounted to trolling motor.i no that i hear a lot post about humminbird and rf but not to lowrance but i see the rf in your pictures above every time your using the trolling motor and ive seen this from other lowrance users who post.im not tring to nock any brand or anybody just wanting to give a fair comparison of the to and to let people no that theres always a possiblity that they will have to deal with rf.
