crappieseeker, thats a very good question you have about the comparison on the quality of picture between the two. unfortunately its hard to get far comparison pictures.now im not sure if your wanting to compare all functions between the two or just the di.if only the di than i think the hds 8 should always when just because it has the dedicated down looking crystal while the 998 is getting the di from the combined two si crystals. justinp61, post really good pictures. the pictures that he posted in this thread , i believe are from kentucky lake. heres some pictures that i have from kentucky lake .there not the same structure but it will give you somewhat of an ideal the difference in picture quality.
