Just upgraded 2 units, a 798 and a 998 that are networked by ethernet. All came up ok. No water test.
Thanks Kosmo, seems to me that the more I use it after an update the more little things I find! 2 hours of your use probably equals 8 or more of mine.

Put it on the 1198 and 998. Got the 1198 tweaked up real good and will not be rolling back to 6.49. I need to tweak on the 998 a little more but it is better than that last couple versions of updates. I will not be rolling back that unit either. This was 5 hours of long line trolling so had plenty of time to play around with the units since I was only navigating while my sister fished. Feels pretty good to have everything talking over the Ethernet again. Going to try and get out this evening to work on the 998 images. Hope to get some screenshots today.

Looking good Kosmo! Did you catch any of those fish in the next to last pic? What is the deepest part on that lake? Seems like your usually in shallower water.
Kosmo, your 360 and Si images look great as do your first set of 2d images but in post #12 of this thread your 2d images look real grainy, did you do something different with these images ? post #12 ........... again good job sir and thank you for boosting my confidence in HB again sir

We'll took the leap to 6.74 on the 1198, fished it Friday night and Saturday. Seems to be stable, I don't think it is as crisp as some of the older versions ie 6.49. Now if they would just update software for my 958!

kosmo...your 2d looks way pixelated and the stakebeds just don't look as clear as in some of your earlier software images...
Can you put together some comparison shots in a side-by-side post of 6.740 and an earlier version ...??
I know you have some shots of those same stakebeds from an earlier version...

I like the images from today i.e 76 degrees. The one taken when the water was 46 degrees doesn't seem as "crisp". The ones from yesterday seem a little "hot" with the gains.
I'm having a hard time seeing pixilation on the 2d, maybe someone can share insight. The pixilation that I saw and complained about earlier this year were very "boxy blobs".
When you upgrade your software do you have to do anything as far as saving your waypoints?
While it's not part of the "official" procedure...it's always a good idea to back up your waypoints onto a SD Card just in case something goes awry in the update process...Quote:

The SI is pretty good so far as long as your chart speed is up around 3-5. On 1, you get the left/right dance where one side advances a click and then the other. Can be annoying, but the imaging seems pretty nice!
Verdict is still out on DI as I had the Sharpness turned on trying to see if that vertical white line deal from the past would come back. So far on mine, it hasn't been an issue but having that sharpness on has kept me from really evaluating DI.
The bow 360 is currently on my Christmas list. I'm hoping I can modify it somehow to work with my Terrova.

i don't see were modifing the 360 to fit any trolling motor should be an issue. All that the trolling motor is used for is a mounting apparatus.rickies, duducer thingy would be an ideal alternative to the trolling motor.Quote:
