Give it some time, I would say that there will be some type of after market bracket made to go with most any TM for the bow 360 given time.
Soft bottom... http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psa53afc5e.png.....hard bottom....these two were taken less than 1/4 miles apart..hard bottom.. http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc0039a44.png
I think any reasonable person would have to think his update was corrupted. Maybe he ought to try it again. His results certainly aren't what other people are getting. How many times have folks reported bad results with their electronics, H/B, Lowrance, Garmin, etc and in the end it's operator error?
applying updates is probably the easiest thing to do. If he had powered his unit off during the update, he'd have bricked his unit. So all the complaints about the last few versions have been user error?
Installed this update this past weekend on my 898. Noticed my speed is much more accurate - that is, it is in tune with my iPilot down to about the .7mph range which was nice to see.
Soft bottom using 800khz http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps666145e0.png soft bottom using 455khz http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps36ac687c.png
Not as clear as your old images. And shellback, if I see any issues with the last 3 updates on Lowrance, I'll post them for you. It's a problem, the sooner they see it, the more they read it, it get's more likely they'll get it fixed. It's not fair for consumers, and you taking a castro approach won't get anything fixed. Pretending there's no problem is shady. When Lowrance has an issue, people don't get chastised for posting about it, do you even read the other board?
This thread is about a particular HB update. It is not about Lowrance. Don't start the arguing again.
This is a picture from saturday using 455khz on si/di and 200khz on the 2d soft bottomhttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd0d73cc2.png
A glimmer of hope for some...

360 in about 2 ft. water with soft bottom.theres 3 pvc stake beds in this shot http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps39372a4a.png in this shot the 360 is on a hard bottom showing stumps http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psae339672.png
This is the same structure in both shots http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd0d73cc2.png http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps80d147b6.png

Rickie[/QUOTE thats sounds good maybe the appropriate people will red this thread also because ive noticed that while using my di transducer on my 998 the 2d running the 200khz performs better than my si transducer running the 200khz.i have no ideal why this happens.heres some pictures that came from my di transducer http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps4e6970ac.png

kosmo what did you do diff. in the first two 360 shots and the last 360 shots to get the last one to look much better? the last one is what I would want to see. looks to be crisper with better dedail.
That DI shot, are you saying that the SI looked diff. with DI running in 200 when running together or in when used as diff. screens you noticed a difference. Good looking DI ahot. Why does it cut off just past the bottom detal? Mine seems to be a SI shot flipped to show a DI screen.
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...psfd2fea26.jpg
Is this due to the 83 hz being used in DI for a larger view of the bottom?
See the difference between these two 360 shots.both are in shallow water.the first has a hard bottom.the second picture is shallow water but a soft bottom http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps230433f9.png http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps39372a4a.png

Those shots in post 56 i used a di transducer inplace of my si transducer.the di beam is pointed down instead of outward.this is whats making the bottom look different than what your seeing on your unit.the 2d is running 200khz this is the difference.when i use the 200khz on si transducer there seems to be times that it gets very pixelaleted while other times it look ok.this is not the case while using the di transducer
:ThumbsUp thx
Have read up on diff. post about the guys running two ducers...the second being a go to DI. Looks as though from that shot and others I've seen it works out well. thx for the info
The DI image in the HB SI units is a "computer generated blend" of the left and right SI image data...
This is a post from Greg in another thread...
The Di sonar in the HB Si units is a blend of both the left and right Si sonar:
*- take the right Si sonar and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
*- take the left Si sonar and flip it horizontally (mirror image) and then rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
*- overlay the two images and you have a Di sonar image.

kosmo...
Which 2d piezo (in which xducer) are you using for depth when you're using the XNT 9 DI T on your SI unit...??
Rickie
Nice shots Robert Nelson, even thought they aren't great, they are better than what others are getting. Since your posts about the software issues are 90% screen shots, is that because you are saying that there is no problem? Just wondering because it's your normal response to problems.
in those picture the 2d is coming from the xnt 9 di t. a person really needs to run both xnt 9 di t then switch to the si transducer to see the difference between them.the 2d coming from the xnd 9 di t will show better detail for some reason.seems like the xnt 9 di t and the si transducer would be the same if both on the 200khz but there not.i see no reason for one displaying different from the other but they do.

The above article explains how piezoe elements are made...such that 1 of the frequencies vibrates along the "thickness" of the piezo ....and the other frequency vibrates along the "diameter" of the piezo...
The 2d piezo in the HDSI xducer is made to vibrate at 200kHz/83kHz...
The 2d piezo in the XNT 9 DI T xducer is made to vibrate at 455kHz/200kHz...
It is possible that the 200kHz of the HDSI is vibrating across the "thickness" of the piezo...and the 200kHz of the XNT 9 DI T is vibrating across the "diameter" of the piezo...(or vice-versa)
Rickie
I'm sorry, but I just don't see the clarity in the DI shots. I do think the 2D shots are real good.
why does my down imaging have these lines that appear with my sharpness on. it only seems to happen when my chart speed is set to 2 or lower.. any suggestions guys?
I no what my sugestion would be but im not going to post it.. i have not had this happen but stymie has posted about this.... I vbelieve its a siftware glitch
Wat send it back to hb?
Theres only one known cure that i no of.and i shell not speek it:biggrin
The only that i can think of is if your 2d is set to 83khz you might try turning it off.
Naw my 2d is on 200
Yes sir, I seen something like that this past spring with an earlier software version. I turned sharpness off and haven't seen it since.
What version of software are you running South65?
6.740
Can anyone send me 6.49. Not happy with 2d after being on the water today. I sent it to hb Greg but he hasn't sent it yet. . Also wat is some settings to start with since I haven't run this version since I first got my unit over a year ago. Thanks.
Which unit do you have South..??
Some of the models here have 6.490 available...(you have to be a member to download)...
