I use a torch and every jig size will be a little different. And as the folks have said color manufacturer temps and humidity all matter. it will come in time. Even after many years of doing this I still mess up a few getting it just right. I usually fish fish my screw ups myself and the good ones go to friends and kids. Crappie will eat the ugly ones too.
