Fished tues the 14th at Linesville for 4 hours after buting my boat in a slip and did pretty well.Managed 4 really big crappies 2 were 13.5 inches the other were 12 a jumbo perch from just outside of stewarts cove and a monster gill. I missed a few also again fishing not on fire but the big ones were sure biting for me that day.there were a lot of boats on water for a Tuesday morning this early in season.

I guess Bill hasn't checked back in yet but I read in Darl Black's report that some were caught in 6ft water near Red Cross bay.

Fishing at least for me has been terrible since the good day I had on the 14th.The weather since has been really bad and the water isnnt getting warmed up much if at all maybe even regressed. My son is up there now and he reported very slow and very windy with some nice whitecaps!!!!

Fishing at Linesville has finally picked up relly well been catching really nice fat black crappies along with perch some decent some not so and a lot of big bluegills.Walleye so far not so good. Lots of boats out and seen lots caught.Seems to me the bigger fatheads are catching most of the large crappies and redworms everything else.

Fished the lines vile area Thursday and did pretty good. We caught a lot of fish but a lot were small. Threw back probably close to 50 specks, gills, and perch. I kept 9 big crappies and my buddy kept 27. All on jigs. Only a couple of our regular colors didn't work. Bobber with jig, 4ft down. No matter how deep the water was, the fish were up high.

I noticed the same thing this year. The bigger the bait the bigger the fish. I've even went to a whole larger rig than normal. A 1/8 marabou jig with a 2 inch tail just hooked once and the bigger fish have no problem with it. Not catchng hardly any little ones with this setup. I think with the larger bait it still is sinking slower giving the big fish something to hit. I also noticed that the fish were inhaling the bait and swimming back to the boat while retreiving. The bite was so light that even with high vis line a bite was hard to detect. I'm beginning to thinkl that the males are just grabbing the bait and swimming off the nest with it than either dropping it or turning jsut so slightly give the familiar tug that is felt when using a jig that is being retreived.

We fished all last week on the north end of the lake. We caught fish all over, some days were better than others. The depth was between 4 to 7 feet. The fish that we kept were very nice 12 to 14, and a 3 that reached 15. I almost had my first 2 pounder, it weighted 1.89. The bigger minnows were the ticket, casting twister tails with maggots also worked well. We caught some nice walleyes in the stumps. There were alot of boats Fri. and Sat. fishing mostly in the stumps. We did better when we stayed away from them.

Fished the North end 5/11-5/14 with my wife and 2 kids. Did alright on the crappie, kept 55 total. Most were 11-13 inch, a few 9-10 inch and a few 14-15 inch. Got just as many 8-9 inch throwbacks. Got most drifting jigs in 6 fow. Found a few in 2 fow on shore wood but not many. Got some decent gills also. Kept 18 with an 8 inch average. Some cats, perch, largemouth, an white bass in the mix also. Another good trip spending time with the family.
