Have a small pondtoon boat. How fishable is Pyme with 10MPH wind out of WNW or NW? thinking of fishing out of Jamestown!?!?

It can be done. But when the wind comes out of the NW it usually is more than 10 MPH. A lot of places to put in that the NW wind wouldn't beat you to death. Or fish early and get off when the wind picks up around 10 AM. The closer you are to Jim town with a NW wind the higher the waves will be. You have the whole length of the lake for the waves to build. About 10 years ago I saw one of the larger pontoons get caught side ways in waves that were pushing 3 feet and it tipped over. The wind was in the 20-30 mph range out of the NW and got under the decking of the toon and flipped it really fast. Use common sense and have a good time fishing.

Fished the Jamestown area for a few hours today. The wind was terrible. Caught some crappies but a lot were small. Kept 7 that were over 10. One 13 in the bunch. Nothing shallow. Almost all I cleaned still had some eggs but I could smell them so they were spawned already. Headed to the north end stump field next time out.

I hope you have better luck in the stumps than I did. Fished there on Wednesday and didn't get many nice ones. Caught lots of fish, but only 4 keeper crappie and a couple perch between two of us. Of course Wednesday is when the cold snap hit, so that may have had something to do with it.

I'm not going there until we get a few warm nights and sunny days to heat the area up. Thirty and forty degree nights are terrible for that area of the lake. That's why I headed to the deeper area to fish.

Kenny I agree the water needs a little warm up and things should perk up good again. Pulling boat out on tues or wenesday have a camping trip at shenango all next week.
