As Bill Dance once said on his episode called "Catching a T.O.Y.", if a bluegill grew to ten pounds than it would take light saltwater tackle to land one. For the freshwater junkies, that would be like using a heavy action bass rod to handle the beast! Could you imagine the fillets on that sucker...

As far as "hardest fighting fish" go, I'd probably have to go with carp. Bluegills and shellcrackers are awesome for their size, though.
You have my vote as well as my support. I know that you will be fair, firm and positive. You have been my friend for a few years now and I am impressed by your knowledge and your honesty. Congratulations! :D:D:D:D

To me the "Hardest fighting fish" will always be the next one I catch. Somewhere there is a world record Crappie or Shellcracker with my name on it....and I'll catch it!

as far as panfish go, Id have to say the shellcracker, altho have never caught a rockbass, need to tho cause we have them in the nottoway river at certain times of the year. hybrid stripers will clean your clock, but thats not a panfish.

Hardest fighing fish would have to be a redear. It'll have your line going side to side to side. What a fight!! If you want a pretty strike with true aggressiveness look at the Amazon River. Peacock Bass!! Never caught one, but seen them on tv. They are one mean striker. There is also a catfish down there that is extremely aggressive.

Smallmouth Bass (Although for Panfish, 1lbs+ Shellcrackers get my vote)!!!!
It took me over 15 minutes to land this large Smallie on crawlers on ultralite setup!!!

Congrats DB4D!! You and mud have to put in a good word for me when I do my hostile forum take over of the OT from Crap King. By the way, whats the best line for crappie?

    I'd say creek run smallies.
