A few micros caught the other day .

I caught a few interesting little ones today in the mix .
Some , the color seemed to be washed out .
The first picture, I couldn’t decide how many different species are in its family tree .
Bluegill ? Redear ? Green Sunfish ?

Micro white crappie. I thought I had hooked a leaf it was so small. Fish was an egg 6 months or so ago.![]()
I’ve gotten a few candidates for this thread lately. In fact, that’s about all I’ve been catching. The little smallies and spotted bass have kept me busy.![]()
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Played with the little guys yesterday for a little over an hour .
With the wind like it’s been lately , I need to sharpen my lure swimming skills .
I’m so use to twitching, it’s hard for me to just cast and retrieve.
I chose a 5’2” SeaSir UL rods paired up with a Soare bb500spg and j braid .
Tiny micro spinners was the lure of choice .
At the local docks , I fished the area from the docks towards the bank .
Having a strong wind to my back helped casting the tiny lures .
In just over an hour I caught 18 little gills between 3-5” .
Fun , quick trip .

My fishing partner caught this bass last summer on a lure twice the size of the fish

Back to the docks today with a micro spinners catching micro gills .
Caught twenty bluegills and redbreast youngins’ and a little largemouth.
Of course I was testing out gear . Different rods and reels with either 2# Floroclear or Daiwa J-braid .
Winner today was a 5’ St Croix Premier ULM paired with a Daiwa Fuego LT 1000d with 2# Floroclear .
The Fuego started out on a 5’2” SeaSir ULF , it did pretty good on it too.
I’m probably in the minority, but I could spend hours catching these little guys .
