I fish with small hooks all the time.....I’m after bluegill....crappie.....Spotted bass....Smallmouth. I use small hooks because I don’t want to miss any bluegill. But I catch a lot of big fish on small hooks with no issues. This one came on a #8 hook. I get into these and catfish all the time. Small hooks can handle a lot more than bluegill. You may want to give them a try.
