Great pictures. Don't be afraid to down size the hook even more. Maybe even try to find some lighter wire hooks. Those hooks look strong enough to catch big cats. And trim the tag end closer to the hook.

Right after I read this I was going to grab some smaller hooks, but you just made me think. These ponds are very diverse, although I am usually targeting the bluegill it is not completely uncommon to catch a decent sized catfish. Almost makes me think I should stick with this hook? However there are times that I’m getting some action on the bobber, but come up empty-handed when I go to set the hook
