Fish don't have brains that reason ... they just act on instinct & habit. As long as the conditions dictate that there's no "danger" in the immediate area, fish don't recognize fishing line as a threat ... even if it's highly visible to them. I'd concentrate more on making my approach & presentation more "stealthy", and worry less about line color (unless needed for you to see the bite).

And, consider this ... if you've been using the 20/6 green braid, live bait fishing, and catching fish --- why would that make a difference when switching to artificials ?? My experience has been that fish are usually more interested in what's on the end of your line, than what color the line is !!

I've caught those same species of fish, that you mentioned, on lines that were - black, multi-colored, clear, fluorescent, (several shades of) green, and also red, yellow, gold, chartreuse, grey, and even a light "bronze" (photochromic) ... in lightly stained to murky waters. I don't use a leader, unless the rigging requires it, as it simply adds another potential problem area or failure point (the knot).
