As stained as the water is typically in Louisiana i doubt it would make a difference. At least all the areas I fished growing up there. Could always try buying a small spool of Berkley vanish in 4lb and trying it to see. And welcome from Florida.

I'm making the transition from using live bait to artificial lures. My reel is spooled up with moss green braid line. Will the braid line deter the fish from going after my lures? Should I attach a fluorocarbon leader so my line is not so visible in the water? If so, what size leader should I use? The braid is 20lb test (6lb mono equivalent).

Thanks for the welcoming!
Most of the places I fish are stained to dirty as well. I'll give a leader a try. What length do you recommend?
Love your signature, by the way.
Shouldn't need more than 2' and that leaves ya some room for reties as well.
I think clear is better.............other's think HI Vis Yellow is better......On a good bite it might not matter ..........but when its tough stealth is better in my IMO.........just saying![]()
I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---DONT EVERYBODY ? Thumbs Up
I use Berkley Trilene 4 LB and my fishing partner uses gold Stren 4 Lb. We both catch equal amount of pan fish in clear water lakes.
<IMHO> I don't It really makes a big difference to the fish. I believe we think the fish are smarter than they really are; after all their brain is about the size of a pea.
