I use the waxxies, always have some on the boat. They work pretty good with a jig, but I'm just more comfortable using a real waxworm.

They will catch fish, but I wouldn't compare them to live waxies.

I tip 1/32nd and 1/64th oz. tube jigs with the pink gulp maggots and have done very well. The tipped jigs out fish the plain ones everytime for me. I have a jar or two of the worms but have never fished them hard. Supposed to be good to pinch off and use as a trailer when using spinners and such.

Do they work you bet some days better than live bait. I was lucky to have lived in Spirit Lake , Iowa home of Berkley and was a friend of Dr. Keith Jones inventor of Gulp. I was ask to use it and see what I thought. From day one I was sold and have used Gulp ever since. The Maggots work I have a number of jars of them but still use the real maggots a lot of the time. One thing that you must do is not let Gulp sit on your hook and dry out. It will be hard as a rock and will have to be removed with a razor blade.

Here is another trick buy a few jars and let them sit for a year or so. Gulp gets better the longer it sits. If you decide to store some long term put it in a zip lock freezer bag. Gulp has only one enemy and that is air. If exposed to air it will dry out and become hard as explained above. It is a bait that is made under extream cold so that it will be bio degradable.In that way they can add the constrained amount of scent that make it work so good.

It might catch a few fish but you will never make me believe it out fishes live bait for bream. I have used it down here in Florida a few times when i fish beds and i tried them one time b/c i wanted to see if it worked as advertised and i did ok with it but like i said i was fishin beds. It would set prob a min or so before they hit it and i think that was just b/c they were tired of lookin at it. Throw a real waxie out there and its gone before it even hits the water. Im a big believer in artifical bait like jigs and curlytail grubs that dont look like anything you have ever seen....i mean when have you seen a minnow with a pink body and a black tail.....you havnt so you have to go artifical to use somethin with that color combo. But if you wanna use waxies just get the real deal. If i wanted to fish minnows over brush i would just get some minnows, not buy somethin that looks like a minnow. Plus, real waxies cost less than a jar of Berkely waxies. I think they would be ok for tippin jigs and stuff but you cant beat the real deal no matter what. Live decoys for ducks, deer, turkeys, etc are all outlawed b/c of this exact reason.

ive used the waxies. i love them!! i tip them on flutter fry, and although they catch less fish, the big ones like biting it more than the small ones. once, i was fishing at a area with dozens of bluegills of all different sizes. using the berkley gulp alive waxies, i caught 12 "6-"7 bluegill, and only caught 2 undersized fish.

Its funny how some fisherman complain about using fish attractants as being unsportsman like then they go and use gulp... Its ground up fish food pressed into shape! lol

I am strictly an artificial bait user, and have been for years. The Berkley Gulp products are a major part of my arsenal for both bluegills and crappies. I know some people doubt it , and that is fine, but I regularly see the artificials match live bait fish for fish and out fish the live bait regularly.
