I think what it boils down to is what Pappa talked to me about and that is that with every lake in the State rising like a big dog right now, none of us are going to see much about Crappie until the waters settle a bit. I'd be chasing Crappie regardless of the water levels if I was mobile. From past experience, rising water means lack of posts on Crappie. I think most of us can appreciate someone from our board that gets out and has any kind of success. I like the Saugeye pics from Thunderbird to boot. I'd like to see some honker Bluegills from Eucha or Spavinaw too.

I really enjoy reading the tales of TC and the people he invites out on his rig as most of them will tug at your heart strings.

We have a lot of extremely good hearted people that frequent this board and many have become great friends. I encourage ALL members of the Oklahoma board to fish like there is no tomorrow and share your stories with all of us.

I myself caught about a 55# Flathead last summer on a 1/16th oz jig. Goober gave me one heck of a fight. I can't remember if I posted apic of it or not, but it was sure fun. Then I let her go.

I took out yesterday to take a WSD, his father, and his fathers best friend. They are all from Poteau. The father is in very bad health and goes in for surgery next Friday that the out come is not good. WSD wanted to take his father on one last Cat Hunt. I told him to come up Wednesday and I would make it happen. His Friend drove up from Seminole and met them on the Muskogee turnpike. I backed out of Oolagah because of the high water. I told them to meet me at Skitook. I was as nervous as a termite shopping at the Orkin store about finding bait. I have never fished Skitook for catfish, only crappie. I know the lake, but never for catfish. I spent 2 hours looking for bait. I finally hustled up enough. The first stop, we hit about 6 fish in one hour. I thought, is this it? There has to be more! The next stop, well it was more! 1 hour and 20 min later, I punched number 50 on my counter. We left for a shore lunch, and then back to finish the limits off. It is very special to take someone, that is so thankful, that they just can not put it into words!!

By the way, the Striper Guides that fish Skiatook get their shad below Keystone Dam the day before because they're tough to find at Skiatook.

Another excellent post from a good man TC. I don't know anyone who utilizes their equipment and fishing acumen in a more worthwhile fashion. You have shown us all that you don't have to travel overseas to serve The Lord and have a great time doing it. Keep up the good work. Nice to see that bag of Andys Red prominently displayed at the shore lunch. I know you are spicy intolerant at times and Andys makes a Yellow Breading for little girls and people with allergies to heat. Hope that helps.

I went to Skitook today. I fished between hwy 20 bridge and hominy creek bridge. I started out fishing submerged standing timber. It was good. You had to pick your tree with down scan that had fish, as there would only be a couple that had fish in a cove. I then went to looking for brush piles. They had to be in less than 20fow. Thermocline is at 21. Even if the top of the brush was at 20, I never got bit. Almost all my piles I had marked were from when the water was down 14' for the last hundred years! So everything was new today. I found piles that had fish and most that didn't. However, I ended the day 52 in the box. Probably caught 100. I stooped so low today as to use minnows! It has been my best success in the past in the summer at Skitook. I tried jigs, not a bite! The ice chest picture was taken half way through the trip when it was full.
