He has the 101 lb thrust which is 36 volt unit. I do not know the model number. He told me he is going back to MinnKota because of the foot control. He manly fishes standing timber and like using a rod in each hand which does not allow him the use the remote on the lanyard. He is used to the Minn Kota and is not comfortable with the XI5 foot control. Anchor mode on any auto anchoring TM could be tough in standing timber unless you have a steady wind keeping the boat pointed in a certain direction.

(He might just toss in one of those fine Huckabee rods to whoever buys it)

Thanks for the input guys. Reaper I did talk to Ken about his which prompted my initial question. I wonder if the "problem" lies with the 101 lb thrust or more likely just an individual preference issue. What model are you guys with the 24 v systems using?

    The 24v Xi5 is 80# thrust.

Reaper is correct, you need wind or current to eliminate tail drift.

This is the cheapest I found shopping the web. Fishing - Trolling Motors - Freshwater Trolling Motors - Motorguide - Xi5 Series - Universal Mania Inc. This is the Model Bobby bought, SKU-940800230 (websites SKU number) it came with all the bells and whistles. Universal Mania Inc. - Search Results for "940800230" The price has gone up since Bobby ordered his. He paid $1,260 with free shipping.

There is also this one, but I don't know if it has the built in transducer. MotorGuide Xi5 Wireless Trolling Motor - Freshwater - 80lbs-54 inch -24V - Universal Mania Inc. You can call them to find out.

Looks like it is up to 1367.00 now. Thanks for the help - maybe by the time I sell my Tracker to finance the new TM it will go on sale again!
