Floyd, you have definitely been sheltered all your life! I have had peanut butter on my pancakes (and waffles) as long as I can remember and I'm older than you!! lol

Well, as a kid I was always out of the house before breakfast. We didn't have pancakes in the Army. Always SOS which I still love. Then, after getting married, my wife liked pancakes but they were always too sweet for me.

Well, I doubt we have pancakes - probably have the modern version of SOS (sausage gravy.) But bring it anyway - what I used this morning was the last of the jar you left in the trailer at Eufaula.

Running out of peanut butter is like the commercial about running out of Miracle Whip. A deep dark depression sets in around here. Seldom do I go to bed at night without a PB and honey sandwhich about 30 minutes before lights out.

How about flapjacks and sausage for breakfast Sunday morning? I've got a good electric griddle and I'm sure crappiepappa can find some peanut butter to bring!!

Dad was in the Navy in the Pacific on a troop-cargo transport in WWII. He didn't like to talk about actual war experiences, but he mentioned SOS every time he saw toast or a can of Spam.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't REAL SOS made from corned beef. The only reason I ask is that I have always been under the impression that old time corned beef wouldn't spoil and could be 'hung dry'.
