Bigfishmama and I hit CB this afternoon and evening. She got 12 on minnows, five on a jig, and lost a big saugeye. Hair jigs worked well, including the two in the hot colors thread and a blue/white. 24 fish at the dock and 11 on the rocks after dark, fished about 10 inches under a bobber. Visited with some nice people, which is what Bigfishmama says is my main objective when fishing.

Bigskyfisherman,
I was there. I had on a grey maverick hat, with a beard. I think I know who you were. I tried every color I had and only caught two. I'll have to order some of the hot colors. The one guy on the point double dipping had on some dark color jigs, and deadsticking.

Step up and say howdy next time, hunter. I'll give you some of the jigs (they're my hand ties). There's a good chance I'll be back up there this afternoon. Then we're heading for St. Louis to go fishing and watch the grandson play baseball for a week and a half. And seriously, your hat has a beard?

Will do Sky. Shoot me a pm when you get back. DON'T make a wrong turn at 2 am in St Louis to the wrong side of town. Been there, done that, don't want it again.

How's the action on Carl Blackwell been lately? Plan on hitting the dock tomorrow morning.

It has been slow fishing from the dock. The last time I went only four other people were there. That should tell you that fishing there has not been that good.

Well Friday night was a bust, only 2 sand bass but Friday morning dad and I had a blast with 20 keepers! We caught quite a few little ones and had 3-4 nice size crappie get off the hook before we could get them on the dock.

Bigfishmama and I got in about 3 hours at the dock and got 32 fish. She used minnows that a guy gave us. Dead minnows worked better than the live ones. Blue/white and orange/yellow/chartreuse hair jigs worked well. The females still had eggs, but looked ready to pop. Everyone there got fish, mostly on minnows. A number of saugeyes were hooked, and the crappie disappeared for about an hour, when the saugeyes were in.
