Was out on TALALA Creek earlier in the week doing a bit of slow trolling. Using 10/2 braid, (some off brand) on a baitcaster reel using a 10' Outlaw rod. I preface the following by stating I've had this rod for at least 5-6 years and bought it used from Crappie George for 20 bucks. This rod has laid in the boat, outside on and off for the duration of its stay with me. This is the same rod I caught a 55# flathead on using a 1/16th oz jig, (plain lead head and a Squirmin Squirt plastic) in the middle of the summer.
This particular rod tried to leave my side by breaking about 2/3rds up while setting the hook in some solid brush. Not the rods fault, and not really my fault as I had quite the thump prior to the breakage. It was simply time for this rod to die. But alas, me being the finicky miser that I am, I cut the top of the bottom portion and the bottom of the top portion until they merged once again in a snug fit. Then break out the Gorilla Glue and twist both pieces until I had about a 2" overlap.
I now own a custom, 7' 2 7/8" Outlaw rod and I'll get another 5-6 years out of her.

LOL, WTG Craig.
Sometime, the slight action change makes you think you should fix your other rods as well, so be careful!

Another inspirational concept by Reaper. I am picturing my pile of broken rods and the awesome Frankenstein poles I can create from them. An All Saints Day (Halloween) thank you from the Philippines Craig! Look for my Outlaw/Falcon/Snoopy combo rod on the Double O soon.
I wish I would have kept that little Sponge Bob pole now.

You might want to put a little more thought into this Ciller. Your boys have been PMing me about how to replace some of your rods! They too, have had an action change!! Some things never change while ol Dad is not home! haha they thought the butt of the handle was about the same size of the plug. It wasnt, but had to trim a little to find out! trying to improvise.
I guess I forgot to tell the boys that I left a bag of potatoes in the boat to whittle down in case they lost the plug. I know I'm gonna be in the market for a total equipment replacement when I return. I should have hidden the boat keys and bought a gun safe dang it.
