If your going to fish Wister you're in for a treat. I fished it Saturday in the rain high temps were 45, it was a little rough but caught 21 keepers with two over 2 lbs. One was 2.02 and the other was 2.16lbs. We were dippin brush with one jig, caught them in the top of piles in 12ft also caught some in brush in 3-5 ft. Good luck! EB

Appreciate the report EB-wife and I love to dip the shallow cover but will spider rig if we have to find them first. Don't know how much weather will drop water temp. Gary we are staying on the island cabins- blue ford pickup and boat. Plan is Friday arrival may be leave Tues am. Drop by and give us a shout. May fish Eufaula Thursday don't know yet.

Lake Wister
That store that closed down was it called fishermans corner? I fished there last year and thought that was the name.

gfortelney - If you can connect with faburwell while you are at Wister you will be in for a treat. He is one fine crappie fisherman.

I need all the help I can get.

How far of a drive is that for you EB?

My family and I will be heading to Wister next weekend, and staying in the cabins as well. We went last year, and due to wind just stayed in the cove by the launch and fished there.
I was wondering if we would be able to make the run across the lake safely to fish the river if we wanted, or if we would be better off to trailer the boat to another launch. It's just pretty convenient to launch close to the cabins.
I have a Navionics chip, so I can follow the channel, but was just wondering if anyone could point out any major hazards that may be lurking....
Thanks!
