I tried to see your cabin today from the water while I was out there fishing, but........wow it gets shallow! I thought I saw the roof, then I remembered you said it was a copper colored roof...so I must have seen your neighbor's roof. (At least I think you said a copper roof. Could have been all in my mind.) Ahh, why was my mind the first thing to go when I hit 50? (Besides my waistline...)

Can't wait to see more pictures! I am so jealous.

Yep Patti, the roof is copper colored and unmistakenly different from the rest around here.

The house was finished Monday night as far as tape & bedding, texture, and all that. I will start applying the primer/sealer this evening, but one of the 1st things I'm gonna do is take a nice hot bath in my new bathroom.

I installed my hot-water heater today and its cookin water this very moment. Sure will feel good to take a nice, long hot bath. I've been sponge bathing and using the showers in the state park for the last two weeks and that has gotten really old.

The texture looks really good and as soon as I get a coat of primer on the cabin, I will take some new pics and post.

I actually am going to buy me a little yellow rubber ducky to set on the edge of my bathtub. Not sure why, maybe to give the grandkids a giggle.

Yes, but not much to see. Two of the utility room with it's final coat of paint and one of each of the shower-room and the bathroom with only the primer applied;

The picture above shows a small nook built into the corner and this is where my upright freezer will set. It was originally going to be a small pantry area, but in order for the freezer not to take up too much space in the utility room, I decided to move it into this this cranny.

Looking at the opposite end of the utility room shows where the washer and dryer will be.

The picture above shows the shower-room and the opening to the left of the shower is the area set aside for a closet area.

And looking into the bathroom you see the tub and a bath-mat that actually got some use the other night. A nice hot bath and boy was it great. Toilet flange is set and ready for the toilet as soon as the tile is laid. There will be a small vanity that sets to the left of the tub.

There will be a narrow piece of granite set where you see the bar of soap for a shelf in front of the bathtub. Just need to call the guy and have him cut it to size.

I watched the temperature today inside the cabin and it has stayed down around 74 with the outside temp rising to 83. The 12" of insulation blown into the attic is sure helping to keep the heat out. I figure after I set the air conditioning unit in this weekend I will have no trouble keeping the cabin cool all summer long.

You are almost there! We put a lot of money in insulation in our house too. Our electric bill is usually less than $60.00 per month most of the year. Usually in August it may go as high as $125.00. (2500 s.f. with a large room above the garage- We insulated the garage too. )

You are right. It will be worth the expense. Especially with all the shade you have!

After spending money on building, it will be nice to have a smaller electric bill for this summer, I'm sure.

Can't wait to see the finished pictures. Soon you'll be filling up that freezer in the nook with fish.
