Fished friday in the rain. Had a good day for big fish. Caught 30, kept 15 over 12". Half were big males caught right on the bank with a cork. The rest came from 12 to 15 FOW. It would have been a much more productive day but the wind from the thunderstorms kept me switching all over the place and I covered alot of new areas searching for new spawning shorelines. Used big visible jigs tipped with minnows. Water temp started at 60 in the shallows and dropped steadily throughout the day, ended up at 54. The cleaning board in the pics is 14 inches wide.

A hearty thanks to all of you for the posts. It's really nice to see the pics when the bite is on!!
I recently retired so will now have a lot more time to fish Oologah. My past Oologah trips have mostly been for blues and channel cats.
I have a Hummingbird 798CI SI fish finder that will help me find the brush piles, ledges, bait balls, etc. Been looking forward to taking my Fisher boat out. Have not had it out this year yet.
Thought about going out tomorrow or Tuesday but the wind is supposed to be pretty bad. Maybe Wednesday will be better.
Good luck to you and please be safe!!

Hey guys,
I am fairly new to the area and grew up Crappie fishing at Kaw. I now live in the Oologah and Skiatook Lake areas and havent been able to get on any crappie yet. I was wondering if there was any good shore crappie fishing on Oologah? Are there any particular areas of the lake that the crappie spawn is better on? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Fished around Winganon Saturday morning and ended half frozen and an empty livewell fished jigs and minnows. Fished Spencer creek Saturday afternoon and thawed out a little but only caught 3 fish. 15ft of water 12ft deep. One on a minnow and two on jigs. Water temp was 57.
well, i dont have much, but maybe something else to look at! Friday after work for a couple hours.
Bill, I just bought a '95 Fisher SV17GT...having a hard time finding any info on this boat, particularly how everything works...I'm a dummy, have always fished out of a jon or from the bank. Particular question...I have two holes in the transom, one is from the bilge and the other is from what? I think it has something to do with the livewell system, which I have no experience whatsoever with...Do you know anything about this particular boat and how everything works? Do you put the plugs in the livewell before launching, etc. See, I told you I was a dummy!

I'm struggling on oologah. That lake ruined me 2 seasons ago it was like I could do no wrong. Last year was a bust but I blamed it on the high water. This yr the conditions aren't bad but I'm struggling to put anything together. I fished most the day Saturday with 4 fish to my name and fished half a day today back in Spencer and never got a hit. So far I've been shut down north of blue creek. Its frustrating not even being able to put together a meal! I still haven't heard of anyone banging them up. Has the last year and a half taken a toll on the crappie population?? I wouldve thought the bad conditions last spring would've helped the pop and increase the ave size since the lake was a bust for most the spawn. Any thoughts? Switch lakes?? I've really wanted to get to know ft Gibson and the grand river more. My only prob or negative motivation is I'm 15 mins from oolagah vs 45 to an hr to ft Gibson. Any wisdom is appreciated! BTW I've fished shallow, deep, float and jig, verticle jig, minnows, you name it a lot of diff colors and styles too nothing seems to bring together a pattern in 4 trips this spring.
I would say it is the suction for your LW if it is below water level. You should also have an overflow for the LW, and sometimes they are below water level and some are above. I am not familiar with the Fisher boat but I am sure its like most boats LW systems. You should not have to plug the LW ever. Do you have a 3 way switch that says AUTO, OPEN, REC...If so just leave the 3 way switch in the open position and it will let the LW fill to water surface level. Auto will allow the fill from the lake to be closed and the LW aerator pump to control the level up to the overflow. Recirc will allow the LW water to be recirced if you have fish you want to keep alive while traveling down the road. Just leave the LW pump switch ON in the recirc position and your catch will remain frisky with fresh bubbled water. If you dont have a 3 way switch you will have to plug the LW to keep water while traveling. But on the water the LW pump should be sufficent to keep your level high enough and keep your catch alive. Hope this helps just alittle....Ranger

Erie, I feel for you because the same thing happens to me. I've got out enough though to be at the right place at the right time and have had a couple of good trips this spring on the O. Just keep trying. What's your electronics setup? It does make a difference for people pressed for time on the water.
