Wanted to get to that 48 degree lake water but in TC's Ark you need a rope ladder and some snacks just to make the effort. Despite the burden of it all it was still one of my top ten best fishing days ever and 47 lbs was definitely the biggest fish I ever got without a gun and I am willing to make the sacrifice again if it means saving some more lives of the only fish that really matter. You're welcome guys.

Heard some scattered reports yesterday at Jim's Bait Shop in Nowata that a few were being caught off the rip rap at Winganon, and a buddy of mine bank fished California Creek and picked some up. I'm going to try to get out today, but it'll be a mixed bag trip up the river...Just got my new HDS units and need to play with them.

Currently, the spawn is on and off. Typical Oologah spawn with the weather changes. Hot and Cold, expect any shallow fish to move deeper after about two hours of sun up. After that, you'll catch a nice fish every now and then but very tough to find any numbers. I took one of my daughters out yesterday and fished from 6 am until about 2 pm and had a mere 5 keepers. Some were caught working standing timber, other hits came from off about any bank all the way out as far as the main lake. Right place, right time is the key. I've seen some nice stringers lately, but just not in my livewell.

I left my jig poles at home yesterday. Someone gave me about a pound of minnows on sunday so i used minnnows all afternoon. I managed only 5 before sunset. After the sun set they turned on for about an hour and a half and i ended up with 21. Most of the fish were really nice fish. Very few "no names". Males were very shallow. Females were a little deeper in 4-8 ft. Also, ran into Odie yesterday prowling the banks.
