    Default Oologah Lake Report

Ledge you just made my day, different lake but same results for me. Of course that 20 mph wind didn't help.

Atleast you fellers are getting to get after them..So tired of looking at these walls and coughing, sneezing, blowing my snooter, I might go crazy..I have accomplised a few things..like changing the line on my reels now for the 15th time in a week, reading and rereading the operation manual for the HDS 8, watching the outdoor channel, reorganizing and restocking my jig box's, working with Crazy Angler and Robert to get more Bait Shops in Oklahoma to stock Slab Bandits, and finally getting my Lowrance 520's NEMA'ed to my HDS for gps waypoints...I haven't been wanting any fellew fisherman as visitors but now am rethinking that cause I so want to give this bug up.....Ranger

AAAAHHHHHHHHH, I think I will visit you in May.I may be coming to your booming metropolitan city in the near future to inspect a prospective project with one of your neighbors (Eugene). When is the best time to miss the rush hour traffic jams? I may stay a couple of days and sample some of Eufaula's finest piscatorial endeavors.

Hello guys! I am new to crappie.com, and do most of my fishing in Missouri on Truman lake, near where I live. Because of my job I get to fish a lot of places all over. This month I am working in Oologah Ok. I have never fished in Oologah lake before, I have heard it is a good place to crappie fish. I am thinking of pulling my boat down next week and trying my luck. What I am looking for is some really good tips. Back home, in the past few weeks me and my buddies have been doing very well in the mouth of the creeks, spider rigging, with minnows and some jigs. How are the fish biting here. I look to do most of my fishing in the afternoons after I get off work. But may stay a weekend or 2.

I haven't been on Oologah in a while. It is an excellant crappie lake, but has been tough for a while. I am going in the morning and will post the results.

Welcome to Oklahoma and the board Saddle Blanket. I haven't been spider riggin on Oologah, so I can't help you with a plan for that, but I have been fishin every weekend. The weather and wind has been tough the last few weekends. Saturday before last I caught 16 and only had 6 keepers. This last Saturday I caught 11 and only had 5 keepers. The wind has made me fish were I could stay out of the wind, so I can't give you a really good idea of how well the fish are biting. I've been fishing 30 to 35ft over brush piles, and I've been chasing schools of shad and fishing under them too. The biggest fish I've caught was just under 15 inches, no really big fish. I've been fishing strictly with jigs and I've had the best luck with a red head, green body, and yellow tail hackle jig. Oologah lake has a ton of brush piles. You can find a bunch of them on the Oologah Corp of Engineers web site. I think the warmer weather that's coming should make the fish move shallower. Holler if need more help.

Thanks a lot guys! I am really looking forward to fishing Oologah lake. I will bring my boat up next week, and give it a shot. But I still need all the tips i can get. Oologah Lake is a lot more open water than what I am use to.

anyone been out on the water? Wondering where the water temps are. It's that time for pre-spawn staging in creek channels. Hoping to go out and chase some this saturday.
    I fear no fish
