Sparkey, I feel ya. I just started crappie fishing this spring. If had not caught the easy spawning fish I prob would have quit crappie fishing altogether. It drove me mad to read the reports on the forum (often still does). To hear all the people catching 30 a day, 50 a day etc, and me, 2 or 3 keepers. Three things I found out after the spawn: 1. crappie bite light (yes that was a fish, lol) 2. slow down, we're not bass fishing here 3. confidence that the fish are biting somewhere, brushpiles at a certain depth, standing timber at a certain depth, rocky shorelines ect. I am a completely green behind the ears when it comes to crappie so this is by no means holy advice, just what I have observed. Hope it helps you. By the way, I think the guys that keep 30+ a day have secret brush piles that only they know about, just a theory, but it helps me sleep at night.
