Jason you were the who hogged all of the good minnows. I was really pissed about that. I was the guy buying minnows at the same time you were. I had to settle for guppies, but I managed. Used half a pound of minnows and still caught 25 keepers.
No hard feelings.

Reaper, Where Fish come to Fry
Back in my truck driving daze..... I came across a Greyhound bus driver and asked him about his job. He replied he liked it fine, the only problem he ever had were the passengers. He remarked "If you have only (4) passengers on the bus, you're either driving too fast, or you're driving too slow and the bus is either too hot or it's too cold." Just human nature that people are so different. Has to be some sort of standard in almost every venue of human interaction. In this forum, the standard has been set by Ed, (Slab) the owner of the forum. He's always stated the forum will remain family oriented and advised his moderators to keep it as such.
I've seen forums that became over-moderated and this ain't one of them.......... we're lucky to have Reaper and Odie as our moderators, never seen anything but fairness from both of them.

we took to the boat out for the first time this morning fished the brush piles in skull hollow or tried i should say caught one crappie and a sand bass. The water temp was 77 - 78. we were using the navionics ap on the iphone for gps and using my 100 dollar sonar the thing did pretty well actually located the piles but they were all pretty deep around 20 - 25 fow. cant wait to get out next time trying to get better. good fishin to all
Got to go out Sunday from 7:00 to 12:30 and the weather was awesome. Fished 2 different brush piles early and caught around 10 keepers. Moved to 2 more brush piles and found them concentrated pretty good in one. Finished the day with 35 keepers and probably caught another 20 throwbacks. Had one fish that weighed 1.5 lbs on my digital scales and several others that were close to that. Used 3/4 lb of minnows and fished a couple of feet off bottom in 14-17ft of water. Caught the majority of the fish drop shotting all around and through the brush piles, but caught quite a few tight lining straight down in them. Ran out of minnows at 12:30 and called it a day. It only gets better the farther into Fall it gets, I can't wait.
I took a couple of buddies out last night to catch a few. We hit the water about 6:30 and fished until dark. We fished minnows in and around brush in 10 to 12 foot of water and came home with 31 over 10 inches. It was a really nice evening ahead of the front. I only wish we could have got out there earlier.
I fished on monday afternoon, water was 69 all day, fish were still at 7-12 feet around brush piles. Caught bigger fish than I have all summer, hope its a trend that continues as it cools. Started with a Minnow and jig rig, quickly switched to a minnow only drop shot rig. Caught about 25 kept 12 bigger ones. Alot of small 2 inch shad balls rolling around the brush I was fishing. Has anyone ever tried using shad to catch crappie?
