Spencer Creek has a lot of places to bank fish. From deep water brush at bluffs on N/W side of park to areas at swimming cove to areas around boat ramp.

Enjoyed another vacation day on the water today. I was on the water by 7:15 and tried the shallow brush pile I hit yesterday. The lake was slick when I got there and I don't know if the fish heard I was on vacation, or didn't like the slick water. I caught several nice fish on jigs, but decided to move to another close brush pile at 14ft when I didn't get anymore bites. I found a sweet spot in that pile and caught 6 or 7 fish in a row on a jig. The area was about a 2 foot circle where I caught those crappie. I guess the crappie decided they wanted jigs today, I caught 15 keepers and 10 of them came on jigs. I was using a 1/16 oz orange head with Bobby Garland's baby shad in licorice. I caught more throwbacks today than yesterday, threw back about 15. I didn't kill em today, but I had a good morning and called it a day at noon.

First Bad day at Oologah in two years of fishing. Fished all of my favorite brushpiles and only caught three dinks. Fished 14ft - 12 ft. Spent 8 hours on the water. Either they're scattered or tight lipped.
Anytime your usual spots are not hitting, mix it up a bit. Latest report I've heard from a good friend that fishes all the time is that they're currently 6-8' down holding close to steep drop offs on brush. He fishes first light until about noon. You can find places like these around the mouths and points of coves or long bluffs. Good luck!

I went out tues afternoon and had the same type fishing experience. Something is up, it was so awful I didnt want to post a report. I dont feel so bad now, I am not the only one lol. I caught 5-6 small ones in 5 hours. The thought crossed my mind to fish shallow (less than 8 feet) but I didnt try it. Maybe they are chasing shad in shallow water, the shad are all over the place in the coves.
You're right, Fishers. I saw huge balls of shad everywhere on the surface. I even tried to net some while trolling. They're some quick little critters.
Maybe the fish were already gorged from eating shad overnight. I might switch it up to late evening fishing.
Don't be afraid to try shallow this time of year! In the spring we are fishing less than 4 ft because of the water temps. The fish do pretty much the same thing in the fall! There are two reasons we don't see fish on our sonar units. 1. They are not there. 2. People forget that the fish could be really shallow and your not going to see them. Don't be afraid to put a jig and cork on and try it, especially when you see that many shad working up shallow! EB
Fish I have been catching on Ft Gibson have been really shallow just like spawning season..2' to 8' and most coming from the shallow end of that. Like EB said dont be afraid to try shallow!! Ranger

I went out on monday before dark..fished 2 hours, brought home 12 nice ones. I have pics..I'll post when I can. 8-10 ft deep..on top of brush and next to ledges. VERY AGRESSIVE bits...the way I like them.
Headed out saturday morning..should be on lake by 7 - 730. Feel free to stop by and chat if you see me out and about!
I fear no fish
I'm going out too! First time since June and even though I really don't have the time, I'm taking it. Since I still have fish in the freezer, it's going to be a day mainly for some scouting. I'm launching at Talala Creek early and am pushing the boat with a 60 hp Merc tiller. Holler at me if you see me fanatic.
