If all goes well, I'm hoping to get out tomorrow and wet a line at the very least. I'd sure like a mess of em though.

My fishin buddy and I went out on Oologah Saturday but got a late start, we got there about 9:00 - 9:30. It sure was a pretty day, but I couldn't seem to keep my balance all day from the lack of wind. First we boated around to see if any of the boats in the area were catching fish close to the banks and they said they had caught a few but nothing impressive, mostly small fish. We did see suspended crappie in the creek channel as we boated around. We decided to go try a brush pile in deeper water. We got set up over the pile in 19'-20' and saw fish on the graph. We started catching fish right off and caught 15 keepers in about an hour and a half and missed 4 or 5 fish. Funny thing was we didn't catch any dinks. We had one good fish that was 14 inches and the rest were 10 to 12 inches. The bite stopped about 11:00 - 11:30, so we moved to some other piles and caught about 5 more dinks on two other piles. We caught most of our fish vertical fishin with either straight minnows or jigs tipped with minnows. Seemed like cajun cricket and electric chicken were the best colors today. We did catch a few drop shotting minnows. Most of the fish bit at a few feet off bottom. I wish we had got there earlier than 9:00, we may have caught quite a few more.

Went to strip pits in blue creek yesterday(Sat). I didn't catch but 3 keepers but saw a few guys with nice stringers fishing from the bank. Looked like they were using jigs and or road runner types. They left as i was getting there. I fished from 1pm to 5pm.

I am new to this site although i have been reading the reports for a while now. I am going to try to make it out to Oologah this tuesday and will probably try the Spencer creek area. I have not had the pleasure of catching the crappie on the bank for many years now due to work and school but am looking forward to getting in on the shallow water action. Any tips on location and depths would be appreciated in that area. I have also heard from some people in the past that the creeks up north like lightning and panther can be productive this time of year. Any input would be great.

Caught these crappie today in blue creek bank fishing. The bite didn't really turn on until 1030-11a. Colors were blk/cht, red/cht, & pumpkin seed. The bite on Oologah is about to turn on. I got reports that fish are being caught on different areas of the lake. I'm on vacation this week, so I'll be hitting it pretty hard. I caught 21. I'm trying to figure out how to post the link for the pics.
