I fear no fish
I went for a little while Tues. evening and didn't do any good. Not even a nibble. Although the wind really limited where I could fish. I noticed the water was alot murkier than the last time I fished on Oologah about a month ago. Not sure if it was just stirred up by the wind or what.
went out this morning..fished talala creek...did decent. Fish were shallow..about 5 foot on top of brush in about 10-15 foot of water...seemed they needed quick access to 20+ feet of water though...most of our fish came on brush on drop offs or ledges.
I fear no fish
Fished Spencer and Blue Creek areas yesterday. Caught tons of little ones and kept 6. All caught on LFT's new baby shad in Chartreuese/White. Could not believe that those little fish could get that size bait that deep.

Hey gambliman wonder how that bait will hold up when the fish get real aggressive they look like they might have trouble what do you think
CrappieGeorge
I've gone out a couple of times. Minnows still getting more hits than jigs, unless it was a 1/32oz or smaller. The bite was light, but they should become more aggressive as the water cools. Most fish were caught in about 13' deep water right off the bottom. The ones I caught in brush were anywhere from 3' below the surface down to the bottom. Kept maybe 10 keepers last trip.
Reaper, Where Fish come to Fry
Lost a bunch due to the tip of the tails being torn off. I know it was little ones that couldn't inhale the whole bait, because I had several to the surface and could see just the tail in there mouth. I'm fishing braid w/ a mono leader, and set the hook pretty good, so that probably caused a few. I'm not real worried about them tearing up if they're catching fish. I can buy more!! I tried them in my pool, and they have a tremendous action.
I'm confident enough that I placed another order this morning to replace the ones I used yesterday, and picked up a few more colors.
I still like the hand-tied jigs better, but like to try other baits too.

Sure was nice and cool this morning and that was a welcome change. Tons of mayflies out early this morning, wonder why they call em mayflies when you still see em in August, or almost September. Kinda thought the crappie might be full of em and wouldn't be hungry, but we did pretty good. We caught 30 keepers and threw back a bunch of 9 inchers. My buddies mojo was a little better than mine today, I kept catchin bass instead of crappie. I know I caught at least 10 bass. We fished brushpiles in 15-20ft of water. Crappie were sucked up close to the brush, most were 1 to 3ft from the bottom. Used jigs and minnows, but minnows worked best.
