Those pop up showers caused us to not make it up to oologah today. Got caught in one here on claremore this morning. They came up quick with not much warning. Hope to find time tomorrow and try to hit the upper end somewhere tomorrow not sure where yet though. Lightening creek was kind of hard to launch my boat last weekend by the bridge.

Went out Sunday for a few hours. I thought the rain yesterday would slow the bite a little, but the fishin was pretty good. We caught 14 keepers and another 5 or 10 dinks. Caught 4 sandbass and 5 catfish too. Caught the majority of the crappie casting jigs parallel to the bank in 10 to 13 feet of water. Caught the rest tight lining minnows. Headed home after 3 hours to hide Easter eggs for the grandkids and have dinner with 30 family members. Ham, turkey, noodles, stuffing, mash tators, and rolls just for starters. Pecan pie, apple pie, and cherry pie to finish things off. Couldn't ask for a better day.

Sparky, just like everyone else, I've been fishin everywhere trying to find some hungry fish. I've fished south by the dam, blue creek, claremont, spencer creek, talalla, goose island, and winganon. I had the best luck midlake. I really think we're really close to the beginning of the spawn. The crappie are moving into the 8 to 12ft range waiting for things to get right. I've caught a few males that are turning black. It's time to cast a jig and find em. I hope the rain isn't as bad as they're predicting, it'll mess things up again like the last rain did.

Sparky, yes the crappie are on the banks at Grand. Fished today there and the bite was hot!. using blk/chart about a foot deep. Still trying to find them on Oologah. Best Ive found is in the Hawthorn area. I seem to always find the sandbass and then switch gears since they are biting.

oh ok. looking to find some near the bank. Gonna run down and try below the dam, though i don't think they've been running enough water to call 'em up.

They are running water from both the spillway & the dam. I was told that one of the gates at the dam is messed up and that is the reason that they opened the spillway.
