The only thing I can think of is one has the coordinates in decimal format, and the other in degree's, minutes, seconds.

It seems like there is a certain time of year that you can go in there and slay them almost every cast in 1' of water or less. I dont think that time has come yet, either that, or they are spawning differently this year due to the crazy temp changes.

I didn't have a bite today. Two guys in a pontoon came up an were about 20 feet from me. Saw them catch 2 keepers, 1 that was too small, a catfish and I think a sand bass. This was on the South side of the Winganon bridge

They were using minnows, I was using jigs.

    I was jealous. hehe

I took my daughters out this afternoon around 3, left at dark with 42 keepers. Now's the time and if you're not catching them one place, MOVE.

I took Doug to my number one favorite spawning hole in the Talala Creek area. The water was up about a foot from two days ago, but there were a few fish still in there. I was using minnows and Doug rigged one rod up with them and fished an electric chicken off another. First bite I got was one in the fifteen inch area and we got to see it surface before I lost it. About 30 seconds later, Doug caught one in that range. He proceeded to take me to school at MY SPOT. I missed several and he boated 9 keepers into the front livewell. My count was 2. The rain was sporadic and when the lightening started up, we went to the trucks to ride it out. Had to call Ranger09 and Leland to give them static about their home lakes rising fast, but did mention that Oologah was gonna bring up the rear. We tried a couple of more areas after the lightening had passed and caught a few dinks. Doug had to take off for track with his Son so I dropped him off at the ramp and went back out to Spot #1. Within 15 minutes, I caught 7 fish, 3 were keepers and then it died off to one dink every 30 minutes or so. I called it a day and let the fish go. From the time we launched till the time I quit, the water came up close to 20". I expect the fishing to soon become a hunting expedition. My buddy Bill was out there and almost got a limit. Till next time....

I see we were typing at the same time.

Hear is my story and I'm sticking to it! We got on the water about 10 am and fished a couple of hours in a light rain and strong NE wind. We had 9 keepers at noon. Then had to get off the water for about an hour while the storm passed. When we got back out the wind had laid and skies cleared. Fishing was slow for the next few hours. I left at 430 and I think we had 12. We caught several bass today, a sand bass, a few perch, and one channel cat. Craig stayed and I don't know how many he ended the day with. Most caught in 2-5 fow. I caught most of mine on a pink jig head with a BG baby shad in electric chicken. Reaper caught his on minnows. Good day spent with a good friend in spite of the rain.

We called Ranger and Leland on our weather break to give them a hard time. Ranger is fit to be tied over Tenkiller flooding. He was on the best crappie bite in over 20 years on Tenkiller.

I fished yesterday from 1 to 530 and kept 13 nice fish. Threw back 7-10 small fish. The lake was still on a steady rise and pretty muddy. I caught all my fish in 4-15 fow, down in the brush. Best colors were 1/4 char head with large blk/char beavertail and 1/4 oz orange head with large pump/char beavertail. Had at least 3 more keepers to the top of the water and they popped off. Some of the fish just hammered it and sometimes it just got heavy. The bite was funny, you had to be in the brush. I missed probably 10 bites that I never even hooked the fish. Looks like Oologah is going top out around 5 feet unless we get more rain. The inflow has almost stopped. We may be able to get another shot at the spawn if it stabilizes in a couple of days.

Good report guys, enjoyed reading it. Glad you two got together and double-teamed them, it makes a difference when you have two guys that are good fishermen working all the angles.

Its so much more fun to have a fishing partner too, yesterday evening Leland went with me here on Eufaula and we sure had a good time.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.Thumbs Up
