MotionXGPS is the App i put those in. It was $2.99 but it has way more features than I'll use. It will let you pre-download road or terrain maps for a given area at the detail level you specify so that if you go off network you don't lose your map functionality. You can control the camera and ipod functions from inside the GPS App so thats nice too.
They have a lot of tutuorials and stuff on their website. It only does 303 way points which I found out was about 100 too few for the Oologah brushpiles, but for 3 bucks I'll live with it.
Check out US Lakes: South by Navionics too... I'm going to be getting that one too.
At the risk of straying too far off topic, there's a nice pouch sold at Academy that will keep your iphone dry and it floats. It also lets you work the touch screen from it as well. Not bad for $10. I got it in the Kayak section.

I had a cousin up at Oologah this morning who was struggling with catching fish so I went up at 1:30 and marked a good brush pile in 15 fow for him (he doesn't have gps). I stayed and fished with him for about an hour and a half. When I left we had 35 or so slabs in the livewell. The rising water hasn't seemed to affect them much. We used minnows of course. The fishing is good right now.
I'll be back out at about 7 in the morning for a little father/daughter fishing trip. If anyone wants to join me in their boat just email me at [email protected] or PM me here and we can get together. It WILL be a good time, the fish are biting like crazy right now.
Glad to here the bite is still on. I plan on being on the water Tuesday and or Wed and hope it's still active
Went through a 1/4lb of minnows today on brush piles in the spencer creek area. Still trying to weed out the ones that are full of dinks. Bite was steady all morning into the afternoon. I tried the timber but no luck. Last year there were millions of shad schooled up in the creek, this year I haven't seen that, and alas, no bite. Miss that big thump on the jig.
Hey, tell me a story!

coyote I was the guy bank fishing while you were fishing a brushpile on the east end of the bluff. The dinks were in full force. I ended up with 20 decent fish, no slabs. Caught them on both jigs and minnows. The bite stayed pretty steady, I fished from 6:30a to 2:30p.
Was that a bite?
Crappieguru,
If I would have known that was you I would've slipped over and said hello. I ended up about the same as you. I kept throwing them back until I decided if I was going to keep any I better keep a few of the bigger smaller ones. :o My excuse is, "my wife likes the way the smaller ones fry up".
Hey, tell me a story!

I'm gonna go out tonight and try and catch some. Are there any brush piles that are reachable from the bank? I looked through the JPEG files on the Corp site and it appears that there are some that are "near" the bank. Also, are they marked in any way, or is it gonna be a poke and hope adventure looking for the piles?
Thanks everyone and Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there!
