Let me fill you in on how the brush piles are placed at Oologah. Every year the Corps will hold a brushpile day at a different recreation area. Last year it was at Spencer Creek, this year it will be at Blue Creek, and the next year it will be at Hawthorne. The Corps will drop the brush piles anywhere the guys helping want within reason. If they are working out of Spencer Creek they won't drive across the lake to put in a pile, they expect to stay in the general area but the helpers on each boat have all say in where exactly the piles are dropped.

There are brush piles all over the lake but the are concentrated around the rec areas. The pile that I caught the 62 crappie on Sunday was placed in 2006 and is available via the Corps website. They are all on there.

uh, Meatdragger, could you repeat the number of that brush pile, uh, I got the 06 part, uh, I must have been distracted for a moment, I didn't catch which one.
Just kidding, but the best late fall and early winter I ever had on Oologah was in 06 fishing older piles that barley showed up on my sonar. Ever since then I have been a volunteer on brush pile day, mostly for the hamburgers. :D
