Reminds me of the old fella that was catching a limit everyday for weeks and somebody told the local game ranger about it. The ranger decided to go to the boat ramp the next morning and find out how the old man was catchin them since nobody else was. The old man told the ranger to load up in the boat and he would show him his secret. They got out in the lake and the old man opened a box that was full of dynamite with short fuses and handed one to the ranger. The ranger asked what they were gonna do with the dynamite and the old man lit the fuse and said "you gonna fish or just set there"
Had a fun afternoon on Oologah yesterday. I caught 29, with three just over a pound. They were hitting hard, but wanted the bait still. Tried cast and drag quite a bit, but only caught one with that method. Everything else was caught vertical. Most fish were caught in 15-20' range. Best jig was Beaver Bottom (Frosty Mug), with 1/4 oz head. Attachment 254769Attachment 254770
Went today and it was cold and windy. Fish were biting so softly that with the boat rocking and rolling it was difficult to tell when one was on. Caught about 20 but only 2 were keepers Turned them back to grow some more. Like KCMasterpiece said, they were from 15 to 20'. No pics, only one on the son's phone.
Took a first timer out today and we had a great day! Caught 78. Six over a pound. All on jigs (Bass Assassin and BG Baby Shad Electric Chicken were the best. Although I caught four of the bigger ones on a Frosty Mug Beaver Bottom). Biggest was 1.56 lb, caught by my friend. Fish were most active 12-20' on brush and wood. Vertical. Nice job Masterpiece!!
Sounds like a blast but my god only 6 over a pound with 78 caught? Wow. Hopefully over the next several years those dinks grow up.
Well y'all had several years of major flooding jacking everything up.
The big O has always been an excellent crappie factory.
