Wow Whisperer- nice job finding good fish! I have been in the nursery on Oologah since the water came up so high. Yesterday I checked that shallower water out and the dinks did run a little bigger- I caught lots of 8" fish in 18-20fow where on Monday I was catching mostly 4-6" in 30fow, so improvement I guess but I still haven't found your secret stash! Thanks for giving me some hope tho.

Went Saturday, lake was up 10ft and water clarity was about 6 inches. Pretty tough fishing. Barely made it off the water before the next storm hit around 2:30. Brought home 22, nothing really big, caught more smaller fish than trips before. Caught em on a different color than we had been. Small white curl tail grub. Guess the white was a good color for dingy water. Don't use white much, but it worked in the dirty water. Found one decent spot where they were ganged up on a brush pile in an eddy just around a wind blown point. Fished in 10 to 20 FOW.

CW- you may be the only guy in NE Oklahoma catching fish right now. It's great to know that they can still be caught.

Talked to someone today, who said they heard the COE is gonna let Oologah rise to 19' above normal (657') or a little more the 4' what it is now and not release. Heard all the other lakes (not all ready maxed) will do similar.
I would think that's about right unless we get a lot more rain to wash into it, I've heard it being up in the 26' range but have no idea if they can even hold that much behind the dam and spillway. if it does get up to 19', it will create an inconvienence for some as they will have to reroute their way home, but the important thing to remember is that Oologah, Keystone, and the lakes along the Grand River all meet real close together and am sure the Corp is trying their best not to flood Kerr and everything downstream of it. These guys are earning their keep with all this water. Hopefully they can keep the damage to a minimum.Quote:

I agree with you CR. The COE has a very hard job in years like this. I'm just passing along info, so that those who may be planning a trip to the Big O will know what to expect. The lake is a flood control lake, and some get bent because of this, but having lived through floods 30 years ago, I know the COE serve a purpose.
