The whole lake is probably carpville! The flooded shallows will be full of them on every bank. Thanks for the info...we are going to make a spear and do some native fishing...haha

Thanks for the report Odie. I have been out of town working on the GRDA power plant in Pryor for the last month or so. I will be back and forth doing some repair work for them over the next few months. I finally got to do some fishing on Eufaula a week ago and we killed the crappie around Oakridge camp grounds and some of the culverts around the area it was a blast. Most fish came on a jig and minnow rig under a cork about 4'. My best color jig was a black 1/8 oz head with a black and pink slab slayer. I probably should of put this under the eufaula report but im sure people will run across it. I still would like to get on Oolagah some time and try it out. If I can ever get a day off when im in Pryor I may try to give ya a call.
Call me hotrod. I have been working a lot lately myself. I am not familiar with Oakridge on Eufaula. I may try to fish tomorrow, if I do i will post the results.

Common sense isn't always that common!
Hello everyone! I'm new to the board and wanted to say hey! Figured this was the best thread to start on because it is where I fish the most. I usually fish below the damn...but haven't been able to get out there this week. I went last week but the road was closed for repaving. (that is a long walk up and over the damn).
Anyway, Does anyone know if the road is back open?
Thanks
Went solo Saturday my fishin buddies had family reunions to go to. Fished from 7:00 to 11:00 and caught 25 crappie and kept 15. I didn't catch anything real big but all the keepers were nice fish. The bite was odd today, none of them really thumped the baits, most of them just swam sideways or swam upwards. I caught the majority fishing 8 to 12 feet deep in 15 to 18 feet of water. All the fish I saw on the graph still seemed to be suspended. I fished with 3 down rods and casted with another. I expected to catch more fish casting but only caught 2 crappie and one drum. Even the ones I caught casting didn't thump the jigs, I just felt something heavy and set the hook. I guess they didn't want a moving bait today. The best bait today was a Bobby Garland slab slayer in black and chartreuse. My down rods had pink and orange 1/8oz jig heads with the BG black and chartreuse slab slayers tipped with minnows and niblets. Had several other boats close by but only saw one other boat catching fish. No real consistency in how deep all the boats were fishing. I was fishing deeper water than all the other boats. The guy in the other boat closest to me was nice enough to offer me the dozen crappie he'd caught, so I ended up taking home 27 nice crappie.
Thanks for the report Kevin. Call me sometime and we will go. We caught 10 the other day and had 4 big enough to keep, but we threw them back at the end of the day. Only fished 2 hours. Same pattern, 16-20 fow and fish were 8-12 feeet down. Grabbed the bait and swam, no real thump.
