Meant the bluegill beds, wrong quote.
catching lots of small fish 9 and 10 inchers had one 15 at least ended the day with one slab
Beautiful day with no wind today so two of us hit the Double O today for a few hours, 11-4. We found a big school of crappie on every other pile 25-30 fow with fish between 15-25'. Caught 78 but only 4 dang fish barely hit the magic 10" mark. Even I have some standards so that's all I cleaned for dinner. Black and chartreuse or black and pink was all they would hit. I tried a lot of combos. Below was the catch of the day who we found floundering across the lake about done in. He was so grateful that he sneeze/puked worm innards all over me and my buddies new boat.
cc, looks like the makings of a fine road kill (or lake kill) stew.
Nice report Ciller!
Great story CC and great pic too.
Been pretty good fishing on the big O the last 4 weekends. Got a little wet with all the rain and had to deal with the dirty high water. Thought a couple of times there was no way the fish would bite after it rained all night but they did. Still catching females with eggs, almost all females last weekend. Not sure they want to go to the bank with the water moving up from the rain and down from them letting water out. Caught a few shallow but most came from 13 to 20 FOW. Had a few good ones but nothing over 2 lbs. Didn't catch any armadillos though, may have to get George to train me how to noodle one.
