Went with the Professional yesterday. Yesterday was a day of finding shad on a ledge and fishing them. If you got a jig in the school you got bit. We fished 6 hours, 72 fish. we had probably 20 fish 14-16"! Lots and lots of little fish. Water visibility 8-10". Color was red and black with chart head almost hands down.

Way to go Ledge!!! I have been patiently waiting for someone to post up a report from somewhere in the state! Think I am going through withdrawals! Just another week and I can get back to fishing! Do you fish the ledge or follow the shad? i.e. do you stay on the ledge and wait for the shad to come back through, or actively try to follow the shad school?

actively following the shad. they tend to want to stay rt on the ledges. But i follow them wherever. You might stay on a school for 20-30 min good, cover 200 yds, then they are gone! where they go, i don't know! I know they did not go far, but i cant seem to find them on the front graph. I will pull TM up, and drive with sidescan on. I will find them or another school shortly. starts all over. If they swim through a brush pile, they will hang up in it for a longer period of time.

Wow Ledge! You have really lived up to your moniker this time. This is the method I have always hoped to witness as I learned from Obie Wan on his ark. Those fish are monsters! ( tho we will never know just how big I guess) thanks for cranking up my crappie jones several notches!

Those fish weren't big. I am just a very small man holding them. They probably weighed a pound.
