All right guys, I need some insight if you will. I moved to OKC last August, deployed in January until mid May so didn't fish much before I left. I'm here now, trying to figure this state and these waters out but all I have at my disposal now is a canoe with oarlocks I rigged up and no electronics. I'm debating travelling to Eufala this coming weekend. Any suggestions on where to put in and what to look for as far as land marks to jig up some slabbers or should I just stay at dirtybird? Thanks for your thoughts.

With a canoe it would have to be one of the many creeks on Eufaula. Then to be using a paddle or oars thats another limitation. If you have to get away from DIRTYBIRD I would say Gaines Creek arm east of Krebs America on Hwy 31, and put in at Hickory point and fish the main creek area. Find and fish any stumps, standing timber and laydowns you might see. You can go down or up and see all the above mentioned structure. There is also Mill Creek west of the town of Eufaula on HWY 9 that has alot of structure in it also but it should be somewhat dirty right about now but again I havent been in there for sometime to give you a good heads up. Let us know what you decide and how you do...Ranger

Fished from 9am til 1:15pm on the North end today and had 18 keepers with the biggest being 1.52lb and the smallest was .91lb. Only caught 21 crappie and missed 5 fish so you do the math. No little fish bit today. Guess Andy (cpd21) gave em all sore lips. DOW today was 7' to 15'. Most fish came out of wood dipping blk/chart Slab Bandits. WT was 82.4 when I started and got up to 86.6 when I left. Water Clarity was about 8" to 10" in spots.

Ranger...most that we kept were good fish....most that we threw back could have been keepers but I really didn't want to clean them....laziness I guess...didn't catch very many dinks......but I did catch a goldeye.....had never seen one of them before and if you look in their mouth its kinda scary....I don't think you would want to lip one of those, or if you did I bet you would only do it once...lol

Makes for a bad finger day Andy lipping one of those. Have caught several below Ft Gibson and Tenkiller in the rivers. I tried all depths today and the only bites I could get along the rap was shallow in 7 to 8 ft but all but 4 of my fish came from wood in 15' to20' but only 10' deep. They were in the top pod the piles and not all wood held fish......Ranger

Today was one of those days to forget. Unloaded at Arrowhead around 7 this morning and hit a few piles close by where we caught em good last Saturday and NOTTA..2 really small ones is all...It started raining and it rained and rained and the North wind blew. Moved up to the rap where we caught em last Saturday and NOTTA..3 small crappie and it rained and rained...Moved up the lake to around Massie dipping wood, 11 piles in all and NOTTA..and it was still raining...Ran down to Elm and fished a few spots there and NOTTA..just a few small fish is all that would bite...Left Elm and ran to Coal Creek and dipped timber and Stumps that I could see all the way to the Electric Lines and NOTTA..had 2 keeper fish...well this is a day to remember and I can't relate it to anything except the front that blew through. I left a 3:15 and the North wind was still blowing and was hearing Thunder to the East..Just One Of Those Days......Ranger
