Lipripper (Leland) and I got into a nice grouping of crappie this afternoon. We were fishing in a cove down south and the crappie were coming in to feed close to the bank. Someone had dropped off some brush about 20 feet from the bank in around 8-12 feet of water and the crappie were feeding on bait fish around 2 feet below the surface all around the brush.

We caught around 35 crappie in less than two hours and kept 24. All these crappie are nice crappie, a few weighing over a pound. The females did not have any eggs left.






It's always a pleasure to get to go fishing with Leland, seems like I always learn something new and we always have a good time.

Thanks for taking me my friend, I appreciate it and this is only my second time this year to get to take off and catch a mess of fish. I had a great time and Leland sent all the fish home with me so I can enjoy a feast of freshly caught crappie!:D
