Hit Gentry Creek today. Wanted to go to Graves, but I figured it would be busy on a Sat. and I don't like the boat traffic messing me up

I made it on the Water by 11 a.m. I started wondering where the 5 yo 10 mile an hour winds were that all the weathermen were forcasting! Anyway, thought I'd try my luck and head to the I-40 bridge and see what the rip rap was like.

Spider Rigged the South side of the rip raps on both the East and West sides. Caught quite a few dinks and only one 10 inch keeper in several hours of plying the water.

Saw a few boats tied up tightlining minnows and they were cleaning up on the dinks also.

About 3 p.m. I decided to head back and hit a few coves on the way back to the ramp. Hit the cove on the North side, the one that splits in-two and started picking up dinks again. I must have caught 25 to 30 of them today!

About 4 p.m. I started picking up some keepers but the bite was real slow. Fished till 6:30 p.m. and ended up with 13 keepers and one 2 lb Green Carp.

The water temps had cooled off quite a bit from the last few times I'd been on the lake. It was around 63 to 65 when I got there and was around 68 to 70 when I left.

I used a rainbow of colors on my jigs, but as usual the one that performed the best was Blk/Pnk Beavertail.

It was a nice day, a bit breezy but nice. Not sure why the Crappie were turned off. I imagine the front had a lot to do with it and I think in that area of Lake Eufaula, the muddy water doesn't help. That's why I spider rigged, get as many baits as I could in the water so one would hit 'em on the nose.

This little guy won the Prize for Prettiest Crappie of the Day. What was the prize? His life. Too small so I turned him back after snapping a photo. Even as small as he is, he had no trouble inhaling that 1/4 oz Crappie Pro jig head and the Yum Beavertail
