EB. What is the definition of main lake points? Is this close to a channel, underwater, or just arbitrarily a point you see boating on the lake?
Printable View
Points off the main channel, now it can be a bank off the channel with several little points on it. Now some days they will be on the long points some days on the steeper points. Brush and structure holds fish in these areas too. Also pay close attention to rock piles and ledges. Hope this helps. EB
Fished lake main points around blocker bridge and towards arrowhead. Fished a lot of natural banks with large boulders. Caught some nice bass but no crappie. North wind seemed to really hurt fishing. We went back to double dipping some areas around crowder and caught some dinks. Did end up with a few.
Cleaned 32 Friday from the north end. Tried to keep nothing under 11" but a few were more in the 10.5" range. Biggest was 14" and several in the 11-12" range. Good eaters.
Double dipping 6-7'. Caught them on several color combinations, but green/chartreuse probably caught more than any other combination.

I managed to tear myself away from Texoma the last two Saturdays in a row and came to Eufaula to fish with my buddy Cory Wall. Granted that the majority of the fish were not of the quality that I catch locally we caught fish until my shoulder ached from setting the hook so many times. We both released well over 100 each and kept 32. I fish where there is a size limit so like Winger I find it hard to make myself keep fish under 10". While we caught fish as shallow as 8' most came from over 20' on my spoons (specially the larger ones). Cory specifically wanted me to show him my deep open water technique which he mastered with ease. Then again he is probably the best fisherman I have ever known.
The most accurate answer I could give is yes. I don't fish there enough to know where I was or even the name of the landing we put in at. We fished very similar to Striped bass fishing. Drove around until we marked fish then dropped a lure and caught some. At times we marked fish right on the bottom and if our lure was more than 1' from the bottom we would not get a bite. At other times they were suspended and we fished at the depth we could see them on the sonar. In every case we marked them on the sonar and caught fish until enough other boats motored by very close. There was a definable correlation between outboard noise and the larger fish leaving the area. I guess they did not get larger by being stupid :). When I say very close I mean that many boats came within 20' of us with their motor running at which point everything but dinks left and we would have to go find another school. We moved often.
Thanks. Trying to learn the summer patterns. We normally fish rip rap but really have not done any good at all there this year. I'm just trying to learn what everyone looks for in the summer to help narrow down my searching. Earlier I had read main lake points for EB. We tried that twice and failed there too. We'll keep after it though. Thanks for the reply.
I think I read that too. I usually just use my sonar and fish where it tells me. I dont fish Eufaula much so I approach it as I would a lake I have never been to before. I will admit that I never catch fish without seeing them on my sonar first with the exception of spawners and I suppose I see stagging fish even then. Seeing fish on the sonar does not necessarily mean seeing crappie, sometimes it just means seeing bait. I should mention that I don't have high dollar sonar units. I am just very familiar with interpreting what a standard sonar tells me. I have fished Eufaula 6 times in the last 15 years and have caught at least 100 fish each time. It is a very good fishing lake it's just hard to make myself drive 1.5 hours to fish when I have a lake 4 minutes from the house that produces just as well for me.
I'm up here on Eufaula now. The fishing has been really tough. All I seem to catch are little ones. 6-8". I've tried the rocky banks, rocky points, brush piles (those seem to be the best but all small fish with the occasional 10" fish), and standing timber. I get my biggest fish on the timber but I work an entire shoreline of it to get 3 keepers. My first time on this lake. I'm camping at arrowhead park so launching from there. That open water technique sounds good. Wish I actually had some spoons to try. Lol. I'm sure having a tough time finding anything with some size to it though. Id tell you everywhere where I've tried but I don't know what any of these locations are near. Doubtful anyone would fish where I'm trying since it ain't all that great. Heh
What is the water temps right now?
If my electronics are correct, I've never checked it against another boat, I'm showing 81.5 degrees in the timber sections.
I saw 85 in some shallow water this weekend. I caught a dink about 5' deep and he was in some warm water because you could feel it as I took out the hook.
Thought I would bump this back to the top. Last couple of times on Eufaula has been tough for me but that's been a couple of weeks. Any new reports?
Found a few in Gaines Creek today. They were pretty shallow .Attachment 271658Attachment 271659

Can't believe it's been over a month since anyone's posted on Eufaula? Hopefully with cooler weather we will get some more reports. Lord willing, I'll try Saturday.
Haven't been on the lake in a couple of months so anyone with pointers to help me narrow my search would be much appreciated.
For me last 2 months, 5 trips out and fishing buggtussle to Gaines has either been dink fest for all or dink fest and a grind. Biggest for me these trips were 3 maybe 4 12 inchers. Saw mark did good mid lake today.
I will be in Porum Landing area next week on Eufuala. I will post an update when im done.
I was around the north end last week. molly brown and north to I40. I was able to catch enough keepers for a meal. the wind made it hard.
crappie were in the 10" range around the docks an bridge out of the wind. minnows and small yellow jigs. crappie were at about 8 ft and
catfish were at 20. couldn't find any sand bass for all the wind. no pics I'm still a flip phone man
We fished the triangle area last weekend. We caught a lot of fish but not many good sized. We did keep plenty of 10"+ fish to eat though. They're the best eating!!
Caught a 6lb channel cat using an ultra-lite rig and a jig today off the dock. Fought him for 10 minutes and had that little rod bent over like a horse shoe, but finally got him landed. It was fun.
The thinkbthe lake is turning over right now, got muddy and scummy. The fishing has been tougher here in the last week.
Text me and Ill tell you how to go catch some 918-617-0362
Anyone doing any good on Eufaula? Headed down today for the weekend.
Haven’t heard any good reports since the lake started to turn over. It may be getting cool enough for the dock and marina fishing to get good. EB
Anyone have any reports? Thinking about driving over monday from OKC but havent heard any reports?
So how do I find winter crappie on lake eufaula? I'm hungry for some to eat.
save the frustration. get an early Christmas card from someone that says "a free trip with Brian Young"! sometimes you have to get these gifts for yourself! you will learn more in 8 hours than you have in 8 years!
