Brian with eufala being $ ft . down are all ramps open ? Thanks
Yes most of the major ramps are open. EB
Elm point is good, Immnot sure about the one at 31 landing. It's shallow in there anyway.
Still plenty of crappie in Eufaula. My friend and I hit a baited dock today and got 30 keepers with an average of 12"+ fishing from sunrise to 10ish in the a.m.. That lake is full of crappie. Love it.

Here are pictures from my trips on Friday and Sunday on Eufaula. Most fish were caught out deeper in 8-9ft some of these were caught up shallow right on the bank 10 inches deep. EB Attachment 261312Attachment 261313Attachment 261314Attachment 261315
I've got a client for Iowa Jack Miller who is a taxidermist he caught these 2 fish last week and wanted to see what he could do with them. What do y'all think? Attachment 261316

EB....is that a sand bass in with the crappie??
Yes
Crappie have moved in shallow here on the dock. Catching them along the ramp and they're aggressive.
I plan on going to eufaula sat coming from Okc I have a kayak to fish out of can someone point me in the right direction to one or two spots to try thanks in advance
Second time fishing Eufaula and didn't get skunked this time. Caught 11 in 10" to a 1' of water from the bank cast and retrieve using BG sunrise with a 1/32 chartreuse pony head and a homemade pony tail feather jig I made last summer that I hadn't used until now(chartreuse pony tail head, midnight new age chenille with white hackle feather).
Fishing Hudson lake since I was 14, I'm not used to keeping fish under 10". I caught myself a few times trying to throw back 8" to 9" fish lol.
Good fishing,
Littlefield

Went out yesterday after the cold front came through started fishing at 10am off by 2pm cleaned 30 all 10" or bigger between 2 of us we threw at least 50 shorts back also. We had only 2 females the day before and 27 males all in 8-10 inches of water right on the bank. The next day we cleaned 6 females same depth of water but we threw back 17 females that we didn't clean so I think the females are starting to make push for the shallows should be a good but crowded weekend on the big muddy good luck and god bless.
I had similar results Wednesday. Two of us fishing. We kept 46 fish with 16 of them being over 14" and the rest only over 12". We thru at least 50 fish back that were only 10"-12". Most of what I caught were females. My phone fell out of my shirt pocket into the live well while I was removing the fish now I am working on making a sign and trying to decide which highway ramp I am going to stand on to get money for a replacement. :)
anyone have a tip as to where to put in for a poor kansas guy. Planning on trying Eufala next week. I just need an area to start will try to figure it out from there. Any advise on a place to stay that is boat friendly
The lake is dropping, but rain is forecast all next week. Lakeview Landing Motel and RV Park on HWY 9A is set up great for boats. Ver Nice rooms with mini fridge and microwave and external plug ins for charging batteries . Hwy 9 boat ramps are close, however the lake is down almost 5'.

Nice cabins, owner is real friendly and there's a boat ramp right down the road at oak ridge camp ground. I've been staying here since january for work.
There's a Marina 8 miles south of here call Area 51. The fishing is awesome right now. People are leaving everyday with limits or close to.
Awfully quiet in here.
Fished yesterday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and had a blast. Caught between 20 and 30 fish. They ate up the beaver bottoms and hair jigs, seems like color didn't matter at all. First time trying the beaver bottoms and I'm a beleaver now. Very effective bait. I'll try to get a picture posted tonight.
Good fishing,
Rooster
There's a lull in the crappie coming in shallow here in Arrowhead Estates at the boat ramp. It was hot and heavy for a week or so, but now I'm wondering if they're done with their spawn in this area. Hope they return, but if they don't, it was fun while it lasted.
I was right around the corner from ya stink at Area 51. Still getting lots of males shallow and females are still holding eggs. Caught quite a few females in about 4 foot of water maybe 10 feet from where the males are staging.

Went to Eufaula for the first time in three years, planning on wading the shallows at Gentry Creek and dipping brush with my 16 footer. Lo and behold, the brush was all high and dry. Moved south and found a spot with some people fishing both minnows and jigs. As usual, the report was: "They bit well yesterday and this morning, but they seem to have quit." That seems to be the report every time I drive from the city to Eufaula. Several hours of trying hair, feather, and plastic yielded three keepers and three small sand bass, so I gave up and got some minnows. Smacked 'em good, all males right on the bank, in water 1.5' to 2' deep.. Visited with a nice guy named Rocky and his wife. She caught Big Mama, which appeared to be 16-17 inches, by far the biggest fish I saw (except for the big one that broke me off, winking smiley face).
Nice Bigsky! I got skunked for the first time in 2017 today out on the Verdigris. Figured with the water up I'd get in them oxbows and do some damage. Nope. Hit Bird creek too, nada. Water temp was 60 degrees and current was moderate to light for the most part. Still better than work though.

Hey bigsky, same thing happened to me at Gentry Creek!!! Not familiar at all with Eufala. Where else is a good spot to go?
Guys the north end of Eufaula can really hit and miss, especially this time of year. There is lots of prespawn fish to be caught out in deeper water right now, the ones on the bank you have to commit to find them. Might take 3-4 hrs flipping a jog and cork but if you stay with it you will find some. EB
Chef, I don't get over to Eufaula very often, since it's a long drive. But there are lots places to do well (as long as I'm not there). Some of the places we have caught 'em over the last thirty+ years include the culverts east of Gentry, Porum, Belle Starr, Arrowhead, Crowder, Coal Creek, Mill Creek, Juniper Point, Bugtussle, the culverts along 9A, and over near Blocker.
Over the weekend got 2 reports from Belle star marina and Fountainhead marina. Both groups had close to 100. EB
Thanks fellas!
Yes the ones at Belle Star were caught with a jig and cork

Very nice, Jiggin!!
Awesome
Couldn't talk my favorite fishing partner into taking the long drive to Eufaula, so I had to go alone. Got 43, but only 26 good ones, nearly all males. Something tells me the Big Mamas will be coming in this next week with the full moon. Would do pics, but I didn't quit until after dark.
These are the size of the keepers from yesterday, which were 11.5 to 14 inchers, mostly 12-12.5. All but three of the 43 that were caught were wearing tuxedoes. DOW was 1-3 feet. Minnows, blue ice, and electric chicken all worked well. A twitching retrieve worked best with the jigs. BTW, stopped at Eufaula Lake Marina (formerly Fountainhead) just to see what was happening. Most people were getting very few bites. There were two guys who had about a dozen, casting cork and black/chartreuse parallel to the bank with a slow steady retrieve.
Having trouble loading the pics.
Fishing from the dock here at Arrowhead I had 9 nice fish during the 1st 10 casts. Then at 7:30 they stopped just like flippin a switch. But it was fun while it lasted.
Finally talked Favorite Fishing Partner into hitting Eufaula on the way back from Skiatook. She tried to talk me into going to Carl Blackwell instead, using two reasons: 1. Less driving. 2. She never does any good at Eufaula. My reason for hitting Eufaula was that I smacked 'em on Thursday as well as several days before, and it was only going to be better, since we were nearer the full moon. Should have listened to MFP. The people who were fishing said it had been great in the morning, but lockjaw had set in. We fished 3 hours and caught six bluegills and three bass. Finally at sunset, the wife got a big male and lost 2. I got two and missed nine hits. Strangely enough, when I checked, the hook DID have a sharp point and a barb. Gave our fish to a couple of young fellas and headed home.
One good thing was that the Good Lord let the storm clouds roll past us before the lightning started popping.
Is anyone fishing or did the rain mess it up? They were on the bank last week. Did this rain shut them off?
