Couldn't get to our dock but we had a great time sitting next to it on the bank caught a few cats but no crappie.
Caught 22 Saturday using big jigs, they wouldn't hit the small ones.
Four more inches of rain predicted for okc this week. . . Can we now say crappie season is officially postponed till next spring
You're right reaper the boat ramps maybe back open by July.
Lakedog Im launching about every day at Fourmans Cove but thats on the north end. I know there are several places to launch on the lake. Just have to think of those long steep boat ramps. You can launch at Arrowhead on the south end. EB

You can launch a boat from Arrowhead Estates ramp if you're able to back around the curve and down the hill.
What about parking on these ramps?
Would there be any point trying to launch at hickory point this weekend or is the water just too high and running too fast?
Corps raised all 11 gates yesterday evening to 4' now. I'm guessing this is in preparation for the next 7 days of rain that are predicted.
Jim, I'll be glad when the water gets back down to where it was when you took that picture. When we were down on Saturday, the lower level was covered right up to just before the curve up the hill. I waded out about 10' and the depth on the parking area was about 2' deep -- not deep enough to get my trailer in the water to load my pontoon boat. If I had a big 4x4 truck with a lift kit, I might be able to back in far enough.
We might be able to get out on our dock next weekend if we are lucky. But we always have access to my neighbor's paddle boat to get out to the dock. I'm hoping to find some fish around the dock -- we'll be down for the entire week over Memorial Day. Hopefully you'll be able to come down and fish with me some even if I have to come get you on shore with the paddle boat (but you have to have help paddle to get us back out to the dock).
It is right off 69 highway at the Onapa exit between Texanna road and Checotah. The water is up in the parking lot but its steep enough to launch your boat there, fourmans cove is straight across the lake from fountainhead marina. EB
I heard someone say that with all the water flowing from the dam and with the possibility of even more that fishing might be closed under the dam. . . Any truth to that?
All access below the dam at Eufaula has been closed due to a high discharge of water......Ranger
The release says you can still walk to the fishing area but have to park at the top of the dam.
Eufaula Dam fishing area closed to vehicle access > Tulsa District > Tulsa District News Releases
Wow long walk! First memorial weekend in a long time where I won't be headed to the lake
Flash flooding in okc again. Not any point to drive to eufaula for a couple of weeks.
Check this out ladies and gents.

According to this website the lake is a foot over the floodpool. How much higher before it starts going over the top?
Eufaula Lake
Here is a photo taken on Saturday 5-16-15. It's hard to make out the measurements embedded in the concrete, but I marked the 608' mark with an arrow. My son, standing in the photo, is about 5' tall. So my best guesstimate is that the top of dam it around 613' or so?
The water level at this time was 598.12'. This was before they closed the road going down to the parking lot on the South side. If any one witnessed the cluster that had become, they will understand the decision to close it. That one lane road was a disaster. While we were there, at any given time there were 3 to 4 cars at the top and bottom vying for who could travel up or down the road! Saw a couple of stalemates, as one or the other had to back up or down the road...
Maybe they could post someone at the top and only let people with fishing equipment down there. It appeared that about 98% of the traffic was looking and taking photos, not fishing.

So the assumption is that the lake will never go over the top of the gates?
Jiggin, according to the Corps web site, it says the top of the dam is 612'. Is this the top of the spillways or the earth embankment?
I keep a close eye on that web site for the hour-by-hour updates on lake level, inflow and release amount. I need to know at what point I need to get really nervous about our dock. We have 4 pencils on the corners -- I've got 1 already at the cap on the pencil and the others are getting close (maybe 1-3' between the other 3). I've got a dock repair guy adding extensions to give me 5' of clearance between the top of the sleep to the cap on the top of the poles. That will allow me to not get worried till the water level hits about 603'. Which from what I understand was the level it was back in 2007. I haven't heard what the height was back in 1990 but the research I've found online shows all 11 gates were opened 18' -- currently they are only opened 4' with a release of 60,700 CFS. I can't even imagine how much water would be coming out if they are all opened 18'!
Awesome video thanks for sharing

612 should be the elevation of low point of top of earthen embankment. It is currently at 598.62, I would think 602 would be their max and they would open gates completely to prevent dam breach. Generally 10' from top of dam is worry time, and they will open them full. Good luck with your dock, hope it goes down soon.
Don't know if worrying will do any good. . . But be prepared. . . . . Up to 5 inches of rain expected in okc and east.
Anyone catchin em on the banks? lol!!!
