Ranger - At least you were able to go. Bad day? yes, but at least you got on the water.
Dont feel too bad Ranger. I fished the 40 rap almost end to end both sides and the bridge pilings. Caught half the fish I saw on sonar, which was 2 (both good fish tho). I went way up around the corner to the standing timber in the deep fork end, 0 fish. Good vis at 16 inches, good cover along a 26' deep channel, just simply no fish.
It was one of those fishing day Fishers. It happens to us all, thats part of life..It happened to me last week as well while trying to find some fish for a trip scheduled. Fished 2 days and caught 6 one day and 7 the next. Trip day caught between 30 and 35 keepers with some really good fish. I am still scratching my head over that one and fished the same stuff I fished the day before..It happens...Ranger
It was just the day, Fishers. Yesterday, I fished the most of the same water you fished (yes, Winger actually fished!). My partner and I ended up with 30 nice fish. It wasn't great, but at least we caught some. I think the fish were just not doing it today, for whatever reason.
Your gonna wear that Ranger out fishing that hard JD!!!!LOL glad you caught some and was able to get out for awhile. Now deer season starts in another month so it will be this time next year before someone that's lucky sees you on the water again....Ranger
What happened to Eufaula Boy???? Has he dried up and blown away???? Ranger - you seem to be one of the few that are fishing.
It's Football Season and school has started George. It's the life and times of a Football Coach and Teacher. He is still around and talk with him almost daily as a friend and as a guide keeping him and myself aware of daily lake conditions......Ranger
Ok, just curious.:biggrin
I'm still here and I still fish 2-3 hrs here and there but close to the house. Went yesterday and caught some for supper. Football coaches work 6 days a week so time is limited. EB
My twelve year old grandson Evan, from Colorado, and I fished with Brian a couple of weeks ago south of Crowder. Brian is great with kids. Fishing was slow, however, we kept 20 nice Crappie and my grandson (and I) learned a lot about crappie fishing. Brian was getting ready to start football practice and it sounded like he was going to be busy for several weeks. Any suggestions on where I can learn to post photographs on the Forum?
Upload your photos to either Photobucket website or into your computer to "MyDocuments" and then click on the little photo icon in the toolbar of the reply you are making. It's fairly self explanatory, but ask anyone as needed for assistance. I think in the main forum there are more detailed instructions. Good luck and looking forward to seeing some pictures of some big ol slabs.
i have had excellent luck and ease by just uploading pictures onto the forum. just hit reply, bottom rt box says "go advanced". click it. scroll down to manage attachments. click. then just open the folder or driver you have the pictures in, double click them. when you are done. click the upload tab in the screen. they will appear in your post in the order you have them. You will have to click on "preview post" to see them, if you want to look at them before they go out to the world. Really not that hard.
Any help locating fall crappie in a deep lake with very little structure? There are shallower coves and inlets. Very little wood in the lake. I'm a newbie to the fall fishing so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Try posting your question in the Main Forum Sawdustsavage. Are you fishing clear water? If so, the crappie could be 30-50' deep. I'm sure there are some Northern and Canadian Crappie fishermen that can chime in and help you figure out what's happening in your neck. Good Luck!
Fished the South End today with Jason dipping stumps and standing timber. Wt was 84 at 7am and got up to 88 before we left at 4pm. Colors that worked today was pum/chart and blk/chart Slab Bandits in 2 3/8" length. We ended up with 29 keepers and caught well over 50 today counting throwbacks. Our biggest was 1.71lb and was a Black Species. Water depth today was 3' to 7' and if you got out of that range you didn't get bit. Not all wood held fish and you didn't have to beg em to bite if they was there they hit as soon as you swam it by. #1 rule is never beg em to bite anyways.....Ranger

A buddy and I fished on Sunday at our dock for about an hour - caught about 20 on minnows in about 8-10' deep.
Where do you coach EB? We come down to the house in Eufaula Friday for the weekend and plan on attending some Friday night lights! I'll come yell at the ref's for you ... LOL
FYI, Found Crappie in 40'-50' of water and holding about 10' deep under the Hwy 69 bridge. Didn't fish but about an hour and caught a few on White 3" Curly tails with 3/8oz Pink Head. Was pulling and if you get REALLY close to the pilings you generally would get a hit. I was out testing the Nauticus smart tabs for my boat.... BTW they completely changed the ride and control for the better on the old Ranger.
CB, I coach QB's and Safties at Checotah High school. We are pretty talented this year, beat Morris 21-14 last Friday night, We had 18 penalties for 165 yds with 4 fumbles. Played terrible, but was thankful for the win. EB
Not much on here lately. I'm coming down next week for about four days - looking forward to some of the rain that's in the forecast. Plan on staying in the Porum/Duchess Creek area and work on learning that area a little better.
Most of my wood has disappeared in that part of the lake Floyd. Since you are in the area try across the lake at Brooken Cove area up the creek. Tere is a lot of standing timber and stumps with a lot of OWFD structure. Good Luck.....Ranger
Thanks. I do plan on hitting Brooken. In all these years I've never fished there.
We did well this spring in Brooken! If you don't have SI, call me and I'll send you some coordinates.
Redge, PM sent.
I want to try some place new this weekend, where the hey diddle diddle is Brooken? Thought about Crowder too?
What are your thoughts guys?
Only caught a few dinks last weekend fishing up in long town and under the Hwy 9 bridge.
Any thoughts on the Hwy 69 bridge N of Eufaula?
Trying to keep the wife interested in fishing and having trouble finding fish.
Thnaks fella's

Not sure why, but not too many fishermen have been in here reporting on Lake Eufaula lately. Perhaps with the cooler weather, the bite will pick up and we can get some good reports.
Jim I can only speak for myself, but with Eufaula being the only lake fishable all summer I had gotten somewhat burnt out and needed to see some new water. I have been fishing Ft Gibson with success and those bog Black Species Crappie get my blood flowing as well. Now it's Tenkiller preparing for the upcoming Tournament. Just needed to see some different water is all. Eufaula remains one of the best Crappie fisheries in our state so be looking for some reports forth coming.......Ranger
Hang in there VH, Eufaula is hit and miss in the Fall. Now depending on the water levels Eufaula can fish very well in Oct-winter, especially in docks around brush. EB
My only Eufaula report was my wife and me driving I-40 over it last week on our way back from Arkansas with the boat dreaming of the day I can fish it for the 1st time, lol.
And here's my latest Eufaula experience :biggrin
No tournaments for a while .... FYI, going back with SEACAST for the transom...no more wood!
oh NO!!! that will move to the top of the maintenance priority list! that looks like it would be a good conversation starter around the campfire! Hope you can get it back together for the winter bite!
Crappie beater that hurts just lookin at it!
VH. Sorry for your troubles.
Stink I agree, need more Big E reports!
CrappieBeater--that looks painful! Hope the repair is quick and you're back on the water soon.
Man at least you didn't lose the outboard to the lake monster! That is close.
goodness gracious CB I thought my weekend was bad.Good luck on getting that fixed.VH
I can't get even a small nibble on jigs, so I will try minnows early Friday morning. Its been slow here on Eufaula the last two weeks, only catching a few occasionally. Never got a bite the last two outings. I'll make a post tomorrow night related to how well the minnows do.
