Thanks ranger! That's what I like bout you guys on here, always giving your honest opinion on questions asked. Much appreciated. I can't wait to get back on the water, but I'll probably do more searching than catching with this cold rain falling.

Attachment 121042 Well it was fun while it lasted. Fished the south end Sunday and Monday noon -dark caught about 80 most shallow on minnows tried all sorts of jigs and it had to have a minnow. A BIG one or two on corks set 7-9 foot. 15.75 " 2.1 lbs. h20 temp made it to 59.8 was the higest we saw. Wind rain and cold tuesday decided we had enough. Skillet time.
Lake level is coming up fast. Eufaula Lake
longan rising water is normally good for the spawn but especially for the hatch servival. Lots more places for a nest. As for fishing the high water lots of different structure will hold fish because there is alot more in the water. Good Luck! EB
Kinda what i was thinking. i have seen a lot of structure that is usually in the water out due to the drought. maybe the rain will allow me to go back to a few honeyholes.... maybe!
The creeks will be rising and get the fish running up them! I've got to be in wetumka next weekend for some family stuff. Guess I need to head over to the lake. Is the marina at fountainhead still a good place to catch some? Feel free to message me if you have a decent place for me and the kiddos to catch a few fish.
Hey everyone I've never posted before but read everyday on what's going on, water levels, temps and the depths and trying to learn off of what's being said but it doesn't seem to be helping me any when I go to catch them cause I don't catch them . Lol
I try to find them on the depth finder on Down Imaging. Does anyone have any images on their depth find they can share of what Crappie look like on there? From hat I've read they its a tall narrow image.
Welcome lovnfshn....this is a great place to learn....wish I could help with images but I have none....it comes from years of fishing and knowing where the fish should be at certain times of year and seeing fish on the structure scan in that area. You really don't know until you catch one then your hunch was correct. The locators shows you fish but not what they are. That again comes from years of fishing and knowing the fish you fish for and their habits so to speak.....Ranger
Welcome lovnfishn. This is just my 2 cents on the matter. I recently bought a lowrance hds 8 with structurescan and I'm loving it. With that said, don't get to wrapped up in the electronics that you don't just stop and fish an area. I have found fish with the sidescan and went to them only to find out they were CRAPPIE!!! But I've also had lots of days I can't find a fish on it but will stop and fish an area I think they should be and catch a few. From what I'm learning, they don't always show up on a graph, a lot of this seems to be depth related in my opinion. Good luck and may you have full live wells soon!!!
