    Default Eufaula 3-13-13

Sorry for the late report, but I didn't get home until 1015 last night, back up at 5 today headed to work. I made the long drive (120 miles one way) to Eufaula yesterday and met up with Mark (Ranger09) and another friend of mine. We fished jigs exclusively in 8-14 fow. The fish seem to be just roaming the banks in that depth of water. We never pulled up to a spot and caught them holding on anything specific. Open water fishing at its best is the way I would describe it. We used slab slayers, beaver tails, and slab bandits. Best colors were pump/char, blk/char, and white/char, as you can see chartruese was a common theme. Mark got out of the boat around 4 and Brian (Eufaula Boy) got in. We started at 1030 and had 30 in the boat when Mark left, we kept 25 more from 4 to 730. Our biggest was 1.87 with 5 over 1 1/2. As you can tell that is not what I call tearing it up. 3 guys fishing 9 hours only add up to about 2 keepers per hour per man. But it was a great day on the water with good friends.

I hit a lake for 2 days last week and after 8 hrs of fishing had 9 in the boat. WT was 50degs. The second day we repeated the pattern and caught 15,largest was 1.5 #s. The third day we had 3" of rain overnight and every thing rose 4-7'. We were dead meat. Horrible conditions but we made lemonade out of the situation.

Fished the south end with clients today and the fish are still in the pre spawn mode. Fish are not relating to any structure and moving along the channel breaks and in 10' to 14' DOW. We ended up with 47 and had a 2.02 big fish and a 7 fish total weight of 12.71lbs. Method today was double dipping jigs in pum/chart..blk/pink..blk/chart..pearl/chart.. We caught fish on slab bandits, slab slayers, and beavertails. Wt got up to 53 degrees today. Still have a few days available next week but filling fast......Ranger

Really glad to see you healthy and thinning the ranks again Ranger. The private persecution may get pretty bad but I still gotta ask. What are channel breaks? I have a hunch but so far my hunches are good for about a dozen fish last few times out so maybe it's pride swallowing time!

Size: 50.5 KBnlaw today fishin. I had a blast watching them catch crappie and hearing them all excited. It was their first time to catch a fish on anything artifical. We double dipped jigs in water 6' to 16'. Color didn't matter as long as you got it close to them today. Water Temp got up to 58 degrees in the back of the coves and even saw fish being caught on cork and jig. We ended up keeping 45 crappie and its fish fry time tonight....Ranger

I fished today, we cleaned 62. Early the fish were in 10-14 then we moved up and tried a little shallower in 7-9 ft and killed them. We went from 15 fish to 50 in 30 minutes. We were double dippin jigs today. Rod in each hand! EB
