I can tell you where not to go - - - North part of the lake - even the marina is deserted, most all the regulars seem to be staying home. I fished the docks and sycamore bay area and caught one crappie in two days. as a general rule there always some crappie fisherman at Sycamore, but not now. The water is as colored as I have ever seen it in that area of the lake. Hiway 9 area looks good and seen a lot of people fishing but did not stop and talk to any one. Well back to the south end today..Srarted off on fire. The shad were right on the bank and flipping and the small gar were right up there after them. Started catching crappie right off the bat. From 7:30 til 9am caught 16 big crappie..Big Crappie from 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 lbs..Looked like the same hatch. Best quality fish I had caught in some time when it comes to numbers. All caught in 3' to5' DOW. And all caught on blk/chart Beavertails and 3 1/2" blk/chart Washoppa's, only color they wanted today for me. Then the wind shift and a thin layer of clouds rolled in. Wind from lite SE to lite NE and the lock jaw began. Fished from 9am til 2:20pm and caught 15 more crappie ending with a total of 31. Now here is the strange part all 31 were females. Not a single male did I clean....STRANGE..... I don't guess I have ever fished in the spawn and not caught a male fish. Whats up with that....Anyway I had 2 gal bags of fillets and could only get 32 fillets in a bag and able to zip it up. WT got up to 78 degrees and was 70 when I started at 7:30 this morning.

opps that should of read 1 1/4 to 1 3/4....yes I weighed several of them and I had a partner to verify it too...lol.......Ranger

dang it ranger, i gotta hurry and get another day off so i can get down there and try and find a few of those!!! this week is midnight to eight for me, might have to try getting up early one afternoon and hitting the water in search of a lil crappie action! keep the reports coming so that those of us working can watch and read in envy....lol

Bowman today its kitchen cabinet install for me, then back to work over the weekend. But look out Monday thru Friday cause I am gonna be on the water...might say a prayer for those crappie next week cause their numbers are gonna go down alil....lol.... I need to see some new water though and thinkin about Ft Gibson. I hate to fish the same ole water all the time and need a change of scenery.......Ranger

Ranger, gibson has been pretty tough for bout the last week did manage to pull a limit yesterday but it was a grind with the NE wind ,,did manage to find some on shallow brush in the evening trying to pull up ,,but they are still pulling water so no major rush to the bank most came in 13-18 FOW on wood and around a couple docks in pistol cove

Bank fished Eufaula today. Early morning was interesting with thunder and lightning.
Caught about 15+ 6-9". Brought home 6 over 10" - 1 male
All were caught in about 3-4'.
Some were caught on minnows bigger ones were caught using a black/chart jig on a slip bobber.
Hope to go back again next Friday.

I hear ya ranger, I'm on graveyard shift this week but I'm gonna try and fish thurs and fri. Just hope we get some good weather for my days off this time. Lol. Good luck on Gibson if you go, if you decide to head south again maybe I'll see ya on the water.

Went to crowder thursday fished from 2pm to 8pm caught 1 male up rock creek next to the bank, then went to bugtussle caught 7 good females spider riging 7ft dow jigs at 3ft,blk/pnk yum beavertails and cajun cricket slab slayers. Been pretty slow up hear at checotah so tryed the south,still haven't heard a good report up here!

Well headed down to Arrowhead today. Man was it rough going across the lake, had I known I was going to take a second shower I sure would have saved the water at the house. Anyways the very first cast I caught one and I was thinking this is going to be a great day. I caught in about 2-3 fow using a road runner with a black/chartruese twister. Some were right on the bank. I caught male and female in the same place so the spawn is on. I ended with 23. Actually I'm not sure if I got my fish bite or flies that kept biting me on the ankles. Got home and cleaned fish then headed for Tenkiller for a couple hours. Report on that thread.
