I'm sure everyone has heard what has been going on with tropical storm Bill. The I-35 corridor was hit pretty hard especially around Ardmore. And, most rain falling in this part of the state will eventually make it into Texoma. I don't know how much rain we got but, I had 2" in my rain gauge Sunday and Tuesday it was over the top at 6" and had been for awhile. I'm guessing in the 10-12" range. But, it's over now.
Lake Murry is about 3' over the spillway. Texoma is over the spillway since early this morning. Predicted to crest at 3 to 4' over spillway next week. Inflow is over 200,000cfs and outflow is only about 40,000cfs. Now thats a bunch of water folks.
Heard a Corp spokesperson say that IF we don't get any more rain, it will be mid August before we get back to normal.
I-35 is closed and there is talk about closing the Red River Bridge due to debris around the piers. I doubt that will happen. No idea when I-35 will reopen but, suspect soon.
Wasita River is expected to crest at all time new record level.
Still have lots of road closures in the area so check before you make the drive down here.
Goes without saying, Texoma is effectively closed, if not officially.
