Well, the outflow is down to about 7,000 cfs and the level is down to 619' just 2' above normal pool!!!! Newberry Creek is still closed as of yesterday but, will open again anytime now. We are going out this morning and plan to launch from Little Glasses. Sonnyboy got out last Saturday and found our brushpiles had all moved, guess we didn't provide enough anchor weight, but, he did find them.
All ramps 'should' be open now but, I'd call before going if you plan to launch from a specific area. I'm thinking the fall fishing should be really good since there has been no fishing pressure on the lake since before the May rains and not much then. With the 90 degree water and a thermocline around the 12' mark I'm not sure where we'll find them but, heading out in a few minutes regardless.
One other thing, this morning there was one heck of a lightning show just south of Texoma. Ran in and checked the radar and it is south of the lake and moving further south. Unless something else builds up, it should be a nice morning to chase some crappie!

How did you do Bob?BTW I am enjoying your friend Ernest's boat- he has trained that Lund so well that even I can catch fish on it. He taught me a lot in a short time and I wish I could have talked to him all day- spoke well of you but I didn't hold that against him! Hope you are back on the fish.

We caught several dinks but, not a single keeper! We didn't see any concentrations of fish anywhere at any depth and suspect with 84 degree water temp, they are in deep summer pattern with no thermocline that we could detect.
CC you have a really good boat, as not only I but, any other Lund owner will attest. For crappie chasing, I don't think they can be beat. And to get one owned by Ernest, you know it was well cared for and trained to be a crappie machine!!!! To me, he is one of the legends of our sport!!! Learn as much from him as you possibly can. Actually, I took my first guided crappie trip with him back when he still lived at Cedar Creek Lake. Course that was a few years ago!

Ernest told mr about that trip and about making videos on Cedar Lake. We caught 740 fish on his old boat in her first 12 days tho like everywhere else probably 600 of them were dinks. Great new beginning tho!

Bobby and I made it out yesterday morning. The lake is now over a foot low!! Can you believe that? We decided to try the south side of the lake and put in at Juniper Point (just west of the south end of the 377 bridge). Knew the wind would be blowing and figured we could fish along the bluffs for a little protection. Went west from the ramp without any success so decided to try the bridge. After running side imaging the length of the bridge went back to the south end where we marked fish on the third pier from the south end.
Nothing great but, I kept 6 pretty decent crappie and we probably had at least twice that many dinks. Water temp was right at 80, fish were on the bottom in 15' of water and all fish were caught on 1/8 oz chart/chart/ chart jigs or chart/chart/orange.
Not a great day but, so much better than it's been so far this year! I'm thinking it's only going to get better now that the water temp is dropping.

    Bob,
Have you looked at the BP you sank lately? Just wondering if they are holding crappie yet. Hope to get home in the fall around November and hunt and set some BP's and do some crappie fishing.

That is the plan for this week. Haven't checked them in a couple of weeks. Most are still where we put them but, a few have moved and we have found them. Only caught a few dinks at the time. Spent the past week mostly getting ready for deer season and we had rain the past two days!!! Finally! Sewed my deer plot Friday evening in anticipation of the rain and my timing was good for a change! Looking forward to a good deer and turkey season. But, this week hope to get back on the water and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

We checked out our bp's yesterday morning and caught 21 dinks and one keeper in about 3 hours. That may not sound like much but, at least we are finally seeing fish back on the brush and that's a first for this year! It IS going to get better as the water temp continues to drop!!!!
